Guest guest
Oops!! Discovered my spelling mistake when I picked my book back up this afternoon. Pardon to Mr. DufTy. This book has sure given me a scare---I have already started cleaning out the sugar. Question: Is Splenda safe to use? It wasn't around when the book was written. Another question: What about Xylo-sweet made by Xlear, Inc. out in Utah? I have read some favorable reports, but thought it would be better to get an opinion from the experts here. Thanks all. Guest guest
Lois, from the reading I’ve done Splenda is not good. It’s a manipulated form of white sugar. Here’s what Mercola has to say about it. http://www.mercola.com/2000/dec/3/sucralose_dangers.htm Dang, and it’s so good. I recently discovered brown rice syrup, a complex sugar. The only problem is the rice has probably not been sprouted before it was made. Dang, again J Anna

Guest guest
Hi Lois, You really want to stay clear of the "Splenda" type sweetners = Junk!!! Use Honey, Maple Syrup, Stevia, and Date Sugar for your sweetners. Ensure they are not heated, but raw. There may be others, but those are the ones I'd immediately recommend. This is what the whole book "Sugar Blues" is about Jill so I don't know why you're saying it's "safe"??? Or am I missing something here??? The stuff is crap. Guest guest
This is an awsome book, isn't it!? I read it during our road trip this past New Years, reading many sections out loud to my husband while he was driving. My 9 yr old daughter was listening in the back seat and started refusing some of her "comfort road food" because of what she heard in the book! It does make you think about what you put in your mouth!! I really like the idea of giving the book to friends and family as gifts. That's great!
