Guest guest
Well, behind every child bully is a rear scratchin' obnoxious parent ,ready and willing to defend not only the rotten things their child does but all the things they do themselves. I unfortunately have met many homeschool bullies, there's a bad apple in every barrel.( at least the barrels that contain humans,lol..). It truely is about the heart of the parent.. Curriculum is not the most important thing.. Teaching character, compassion, love, and living consciously..that is, imho..:-) I love homeschooling and I especially love the people my children have become since we've homeschooled (excepting the teenage thingy,lol..). It has been a wonderful journey I'd do a million times over. But ,like I said before, I know some parents who don't homeschool that work really hard at countering what a public school puts in their child. The "system" doesn't have it right. We've taken a lot of flack over the immunization issue,(our only immunized child was our first ,was profoundly autistic and passed away at 5 yo) homeschooling, homesteading, our diet.. You are his parent for a reason .:-) He won't be weird, no worries about that.. But be careful, you may produce a compassionate ,conscious, loving child..:-) Hugs, Karen Candace Podratz [CandaceAndBrock]Thursday, May 20, 2004 1:20 PMherbal remedies Subject: Re: Herbal Remedies - Re: Lisa Carter I can't imagine how it would destroy his personality and spirit if some one at school beat him up or teased him. All the ideas kids have now are MESSED UP. They all need a good smack on the backside. No, their PARENTS need a good smack on the backside.LOL Amazing how some parents don't bother to teach their kids it is NOT okay to tease or bully for ANY reason. A lot of kids learn that behavior from their parents. Messed up. Weird or not, Brock will stay home with me. Candace
Guest guest
He's already "unusually" lovey. He dishes out hugs and kisses like they're going out of style. Some people find that odd. Others think it's sweet/cute. He's especially that way with other babies/toddlers. If he sees a baby he softly rubs its head and then kisses its forehead. I've always been very affectionate to him, let him know I love him and I'm proud of him CONSTANTLY. DH very obviously lacked love and affection when he was growing up and got insults instead of compliments. I think that has a LOT to do with him being an alcoholic and I don't want Brock to EVER feel bad about himself!!! And he sure as hell doesn't get compliments and hugs from his dad so I'll give him enough for two people. Guest guest
Candace..this web site imho is all you need and a library card.. I'm seriously thinking of using this plan next year. There's even free books you can print out, classics.. Charlotte Mason was an amazing educator that saw children as real people. http://amblesideonline.homestead.com/ It's a neat site.:-) I have a gazillion others though , I'll have to organize my favorites and send them privately:-)) There's also a cool book called "homeschooling your child for free" that I bet you could find at the library.. We've had fun with "The Prairie Primer"..there's a ton of stuff to do, and not enough children or time to do it,lol.. Karen
