I also talked to my kids like they were adults. Honestly, I don't know how else to treat them. Now my sister calls my kids Steven Hawking, busted bodies, eerily brilliant minds.

I do think talking to them makes a world of difference. In doing so we are connecting with THEM and not treating them like just a body. Very cool.
