<<<Critical vulnerabilities found in Symantec

security products>>>

Thanks for the heads up, Pam, wish I’d listened to ya! I surely

will next time. I think I got this worm, even though I ran the worm check

on MS website and it said I didn’t have it. I always keep up with

all the MS updates, too. But, this morning my laptop has shutdown 3

times. I did a restore and so far it’s OK. I also renewed my Symantec

subscription which I’d been too cheap to do. I’d much rather

spend money on herbs, etc. LOL But this scared me into it. Where’s

the lynching party for the idiots that are doing this??? Um, being a conspiracy

theorist, you don’t suppose the folks that make money off of all the

security software have anything to do with this?? I know there’s

lots of free firewall but, can they be trusted? Open to suggestions.

Hi Anna,

Still getting through the weekend email, but wanted to get back to you on this in case no one else mentioned it - I used the Zone Alarm free firewall for a while. It was referred to me by friends that I trust in these matters and I was very happy with it. I stopped using it when I upgraded my whole antivirus/firewall/spam filter to a new package (Norton).

Thanks, Kelli. Good

to know it’s trustworthy. I renewed my Norton for another year but I might

do the Zone Alarm next time. Anna

Certainly, or just upgrade your Norton to include their firewall option. That's what I'm using now and it's good.
