Guest guest
Hi guys... Okay...so yesterday I was out in my front yard planting some beautiful flowers into these cute little metal buckets to place in my front yard...and somehow managed to hurt my back. I have, in the past had issues with my back which seems to put me out for a few days. I laid on my back with ice most of the afternoon/evening and through the night last night...but I know there must be something more I can do...in addition to some of the exercises that are in the files. What do you guys think I should do? It feels like a pinched nerve...and the reason I say this is because the pain shoots down into my butt and into my left thigh. My right thigh doesn't have the pains...just my left. Help!! It hurts and I missed a class of Tae Kwon Do last night because I could barely walk...and I don't want to miss any more!! Guest guest
What helps my back and any other joint for that mater, is the hot and cold hydro-therapy! And then if you have DTR or some other herbal deep heating stuff, rub it in. If you have a Chiro, i'd head there today. The pain you are describing sounds like sciatic nerve, and i dont think you're going to be doing too much running around tomorrow. Dont mess around with this, i mean give it time to clam down. I've know enough people to ignore sciatic pain for a few days and workout or other normal routine and it gets even angrier! Guest guest
Hot and cold - alternate every 10 minutes for an hour several times a day.... There are also back exercises in the files.... Bath with epsom salts, and some herbs or oils depending on what you have on hand. SuziCaroline <ladyguinevere wrote: Hi guys... Sylvia> Sylvia’s advice was great but I’d also suggest seeing a massage therapist that does therapeutic massage (not just relaxation) If it is sciatic it could last for a while and or be easy to exacerbate the next time. The reason it will hurt is that it’s being compressed by muscle. Liz --- Incoming mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). Guest guest
Go to the Chiropractor for sure. And also your Tae Kwon Do teacher might have some recs for you. Hopefully you were putting the ice on and off? On 15 min. off 15 min. repeat 2 or 3 times. There’s some good stretches in the files but be very careful with some of them. Common sense IE what feels good until the pain diminishes. Anna
Guest guest
What about a cayenne salve on the effected area to keep circulation up and ruduce pain and swelling? Guest guest
I don't have a Chiro....I have no health insurance...so I try to deal with whatever comes up on my own. I was going to see about making the DTR oil and the Bf & C but I have a few questions... For the DTR...when it is done...do I simply apply it directly to the affected area? I'm assuming I should warm it a bit...how do I go about doing this? Now on the BF & C...do I tincture this and take it internally? Do I use it as a tea? There are not any real instruction on how to use this...so I need to ask. Obviously if I use the BF & C as a tea it will be done before the DTR oil. Can I start using that right away? Or should I wait until the DTR is done? I have been putting compresses of an infusion I made with Arnica and Comfrey since last night....that helps...but I need more I guess... Any other suggestions? Oh I did the hot/cold hydro therapy last night in the shower...it was okay...but didn't last very long. Guest guest
Hi Caroline, I didn't see a response to your questions, so I'll do the best I can here... For the DTR...when it is done...do I simply apply it directly to the affected area? I'm assuming I should warm it a bit...how do I go about doing this? Don't need to warm it. Just apply it. This has DMSO in it, so make sure your hands and application area are clean. DMSO will take anything in with it! Now on the BF & C...do I tincture this and take it internally? Do I use it as a tea? There are not any real instruction on how to use this...so I need to ask. BF & C can be tinctured or tea'ed. I don't remember off the top of my head if there's a difference in the recipe if you do it one way vs. the other, and I can't get to the files right now. Obviously if I use the BF & C as a tea it will be done before the DTR oil. Can I start using that right away? Or should I wait until the DTR is done? Well, golly, why wait? I can't think of any reason. That's the best I can do. Hopefully someone else will come on with some responses for you. :)Kelli
