I was complaining about my son's behavior on a private message board and

another mom recommended I read Doris Rapp's book, " Is This Your Child? " on

food allergies/sensitivities. She told me that she had been stunned in

reading this book that a couple of her kids' behaviors were a result of

eating certain things. I promptly ordered it from amazon. ;-)

As soon as I got the book, I started skimming through it and found the parts

that applied to my son. I was also stunned to find out that food dyes are

everywhere, and orange & red are the most common offenders. One causes

suicidal tendencies in Many children.... and the other causes crazy wild

behavior (and for the life of me I can't remember which is which at the

moment, sorry). Yellow causes sleeplessness~ especially in babies and small

children (so nursing mothers shouldn't drink anything with yellow in it or

it will most likely keep the baby awake).

Here's the book at amazon if you want to read a little more about it:

This was also where I learned about milk allergies/sensitivities causing

bedwetting in older children... which explained this same son's problem in

that area. After taking away milk for a few days, he no longer had accidents

at night.
