Guest guest
Hi, there... I'm a 35 yo mother of five (10, 8, 5, 2, 2 mo.) who is just beginning to learn more about herbal medicine. We live in British Columbia, Canada, a very mild, damp climate, and my immune system is just about ready to give it up altogether. Every October, I come down with one infection and respiratory illness after another, and it doesn't go away until May or so. Last winter, it was cytomegalovirus. The year before, it was six strep throat infections in a row. This past fall, while I was pregnant with our youngest, I came down with the flu. and it affected my heart so badly (myocarditis) I wound up in and out of the hospital for weeks. I did some research, and started taking oil of oregano, and it did help a lot. I also have allergies, but I've been able to keep them to a minimum this year with lots of raw local honey, oil of oregano, cayenne powder and chlorophyll. My husband and I are really working on keeping our diet as fresh and natural as possible, lots of whole grains and organic produce, tons of filtered water, etc. I'd be open to any other suggestions for getting my body in good shape this summer before next fall hits again. One of these winters, I'm afraid I won't be able to fight off an infection. Thanks in advance... Susan W.
