Guest guest
I have gotten that as well as emails that appear to be directly from the mods of this group and another. I didn't check with this group, but the mods on the other group never sent the email and in fact got one that looked like it was from ME! I think it must be an advanced virus that mimics people already in the mailbox or in the address book? Guest guest
That's good to know, Becky, Thanks! Do you think the person doing this is harvesting emails from the groups? (Meaning the person doing this is ON THIS GROUP)? diane in nw mt - doodle bug herbal remedies Wednesday, April 28, 2004 12:01 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - Fw: Re: I have gotten that as well as emails that appear to be directly from the mods of this group and another. Guest guest
There are people out there that replicate emails by twekaing them and then send out all sorts of stuff as spam or viruses I frequently get email back saying that the address it was sent to, refused it and from people i never sent things too; this is due to someone replicating email addresses. The best rule of thumb is, if you see something that looks suspicous or looks like you dont know what it is for, DELETE it, do not open it, just delete it!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
There is a more advanced virus that copies whole email lists and uses them to email everyone and everything. I doubt Seriously that there is an actual person sending us these virus emails. has had this problem before, so it's probably hit them again. Jan G. Guest guest
I don't know much about these things, save my own observations, but as someone as already said I seriously doubt someone would take the time. Especially since the list owner has taken care not to make the member list public. I'm sure there are many other groups that would be much easier to harvest emails from if someone was doing it.
