The same is true with vetinary med's they have you come back for a follow-up 1 to 2 weeks later to get the newly hatched eggs. Puppy had them bad when he got him last Nov and within 2 days it was so obvious he had some issues. HUbby went outside with him to do his duty and low and behold... a pile of spaghetti! Maybe you can confine him to part of your yard for a few days so you can check Candace??? Or walk him in your yard just after you feed him to see what happens? Any cut or if they get some of the fecal matter or soil that is contaminated with the egg in an eye or mouth then they can be infected with them. They can grow in an open wound and form cysts in the body, get in the blood stream.. and that's about all i know. a new puppy is most dangerous as they are often born with the worms and not old enough for treatment and licking a childs mouth etc. can be dangerous. Especially when you have something like Intestinal Cleanse that will just clean up the problem while helping you poop. Puppies are puppies. If we get afraid of them, what's the point of living? We have the technology to handle worms and the time where you cannot worm them is short. For that matter you CAN worm them with tinctures like Parasect or I think for a pup even a garlic tincture can help as well. I don't mean to be harsh but I love puppies and I would risk worms to play and be licked by them. There are east solutions to this. Was up after yourself and give your puppy warm baths every week. Keep your puppy indoors and potty train him/her. Whenever they go potty take them out to the SAME place in the yard that you'd like for them to poop. Let your child know that this area is off limits and it's the dogs potty. After about 1 - 2 months of this the puppy will go potty there no matter what for the rest of it's life while in the yard. Candace has children and she suspected her dog/puppy has worms and he goes all over her yard. Not all people are knowledgeable of intestinal cleanses and many are not in a financial level where they are able take a animal to the vet or even know about worms. I had a nice home some years back with a nice dog house that hadn't been occupied for at least 6 or seven years. While we were moving in, the children of course, did some exploring in it before i could clean it out. As soon as we got moved in, I cleaned and hosed it down with boraxo then lysol and, it being quite a large dog house, allowed the children to use it for a play house. two of them came down with ring worm. Upon disgussing it with a neighbor, found that there had been a dog with ringworms several years back. They couldn't recall just how far back, but 'some time' back. that's why i am so paranoyd. i loved the dogs in my life, a couple of dachsunds one standard named Schultzie, a registered miniture black/brown named Prices Gayer Troubles, a border collie called "Yo" who was good at herding and rounding up cattle, a lovely black cocker spaniel called Black Friday, and a really sharp white/black spots bird dog with a geat point and soft mouth (a pointer) named Benagain. had a few when i was a child, too, mostly strays that disapeared as i wasn't supposed to have a dog. but i do be careful and care for them and make sure they are clean and do not have anything that will hurt my children by keeping an eye on sanitation. i have a cat.. she is 18 years old.. and i would have a dog, but i am afraid to get another dog at my age as i would probably out live it and am too concerned as to what would happen to it when i die. One of My dauhters will take the cat if she outlives me, but they all have too many dogs now and a dog might end up being an orphan. Zeb It sounds like you have things pretty well under control in the way you handle the situation. sounds about like the way we did when we had dogs. Yo was a really large dog and the kids used to put him in a double tub, galvanized laundry tubs, front feet in one, back feet in the other to give him his baths. Yo loved it and the children were so proud of him. He was definitely their favorite. You weren't harsh.. hehehehe! just a typical dog lover! <g> sound like my eldest son. he was the greatest dog lover of the family. One of My dauhters will take the cat if she outlives me, but they all have too many dogs now and a dog might end up being an orphan. I don't mean to be harsh but I love puppies and I would risk worms to play and be licked by them. There are east solutions to this. Was up after yourself and give your puppy warm baths every week. Keep your puppy indoors and potty train him/her. Whenever they go potty take them out to the SAME place in the yard that you'd like for them to poop. Let your child know that this area is off limits and it's the dogs potty. After about 1 - 2 months of this the puppy will go potty there no matter what for the rest of it's life while in the yard. Zeb It sounds like you have things pretty well under control in the way you handle the situation. sounds about like the way we did when we had dogs. Yo was a really large dog and the kids used to put him in a double tub, galvanized laundry tubs, front feet in one, back feet in the other to give him his baths. Yo loved it and the children were so proud of him. He was definitely their favorite. I do worry about it with my little toddler always falling down outside and the dogs licking his face but I'm sure I was licked a few zillion times as a toddler, too! Especially when you have something like Intestinal Cleanse that will just clean up the problem while helping you poop. Puppies are puppies. If we get afraid of them, what's the point of living? We have the technology to handle worms and the time where you cannot worm them is short. For that matter you CAN worm them with tinctures like Parasect or I think for a pup even a garlic tincture can help as well. Any cut or if they get some of the fecal matter or soil that is contaminated with the egg in an eye or mouth then they can be infected with them. They can grow in an open wound and form cysts in the body, get in the blood stream.. and that's about all i know. a new puppy is most dangerous as they are often born with the worms and not old enough for treatment and licking a childs mouth etc. can be dangerous. The same is true with vetinary med's they have you come back for a follow-up 1 to 2 weeks later to get the newly hatched eggs.Puppy had them bad when he got him last Nov and within 2 days it was so obvious he had some issues. HUbby went outside with him to do his duty and low and behold... a pile of spaghetti!Maybe you can confine him to part of your yard for a few days so you can check Candace???
