hello everyone,

could someone give me a substitute for store tooth paste? my teeth

seem to be a tad yellowish and i'm wondering if i can get them a

little whiter......... not sure what color teeth are supposed to be

really, white like we all want them to be, or a little yellow like i

see in animals. i'm not a coffe drinker or much tea, smoke little

and actually trying to quit again at the moment. have medication,

also coming off those, but wonder what is causing it to color it the

way they are. my teeth are healty and strong, just not very white.

anyone? thanks, rik.

Baking Soda and salt make a good combination to clean and sweeten the mouth. Also Hydrogen Peroxide, % diluted half and half with pure water is cleansing and helps with keeping stains to a minimum. do not swallow. I have heard of some folks on list who sound like tey use the peroxie full strength, but that is a bit too strong and my pharmacist said never to use it that strong. Naturally chalk white teeth tend to be chalkey according to a few abservations i have made in the past. i know that two of my wisdom teeth came in chalk white and they were very weak teeth. i don't know what all this whitner is going to do to peoples teeth these days.

I read somewhere you can make the tooth and gum formula and mix it with a little baking soda and brush with that.

That'd be good for you and the soda would have to whiten a bit, I would think.

Hi Rik,

Well, I don't have a recipe for you, but I'm pretty sure some of the experts here may have. I can tell you what I know - your enamel is suppose to be alittle yellow, even if you don't drink coffee or tea. It means that your teeth are healthy. Having white teeth is a cosmetic thing. Dear Rik,

Valorie and I use the Tooth and Gum Formula along with a little bit of Baking Soda.

Works great and my teeth are whiter because of it, though I wouldn't say they were completely "Tom Cruise" white LOL ;o)

Not everyone has the movie star smile, and our teeth do vary in whiteness.

This would be a genetic thing.

Best,

Doc
