Guest guest
Namaste, Wear thick socks and good cushioned shoes. Change into a different pair of socks and shoes at lunch time...this gives your arches a break. Good shoes are worth the investment. Use gel insoles. When you get home, lay down inverted, with you feet well above your head for about half and hour. Take a warm bath and massage your toes, feet angles, calves and knees. Walk around barefooted or just in socks at home. There are infrared heat/massagers for feet that would help you a lot. Drink lots of water, it makes your muscles work better. Prop your feet up when sitting down as often as possible. I used to do trade show work and have to walk on concrete all day long and my feet hurt all the way up to my knees! : } Use a massage oil or analgesic like icy hot to rub your feet and legs with. Good luck & blessings! " Halo " ______________________________\ ____ Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
I have plantar fasciitis too, and I got some elastic arch supports that help a lot, that I wear if I'm going to be on my feet any length of time, along with good Easy Spirit walkers. I also bought this green rocker thing from a catalog (Footsmart, I think) that you use to stretch your whole leg, one foot at a time, and that helps a lot too. Lately, I started doing some foot exercises when I'm sitting watching the news, and I think that is helping most of all. It takes much longer for the pain to start, and some days, I'll be out running errands and shopping for hours, and not have any pain at all since I started them. They came intuitively, really, and it's hard to describe in words. I wish I could just show you! I'll try to describe... don't laugh! I rotate my foot first to the right (with all of these, start with ten repetitions, work up to twenty over a week or two). Then rotate to the left. Then I flex my foot back and stretch it forward, slowly, stretching as far as it will go. Then I turn my foot to the right repeatedly. Then to the left repeatedly. Then I curl my toes under really tight, like making a fist with my foot, sort of. Then I stretch my toes upward as far as I can. Then I repeat the rotations that I started with. I try to do this at least every other day. It goes great with Good Morning America! I do neck and shoulder and face exercises at the same time, but they don't really relate to the question.
