Guest guest
Hello -- I have been on many prescription meds over the years, for hypertension/high bp. I usually have one reaction or another, and then have to change medications. This most recent one is the worst, and I'm really worried about the affect on my long-term health. Is there some way to reduce blood pressure without medication? Andrea NZ

Guest guest
Hi Andrea, Do you know how high your BP is when you are not on medication? Have you had any recent labwork? Do you know your last serum magnesium level? You might google magnesium deficiency as linked to hypertension. Guest guest
Hi, my stepdad has been suffering high blood pressure for years and a friend got us to try a thing called a " Bio Disc " its this little glass disc that has minerals forced into the glass. it helped him a bit, its a little bit expensive (i think $600) but all you do is run the water over it that you drink and it passes on the mineral, I dont really understand it that well but if you want more info on it i can email you some from my stepdad. Anyway it help him, good luck! , Andrea Gauland <dreaquince wrote: > > Hello -- I have been on many prescription meds over the years, for > hypertension/high bp. Guest guest
--Red Yeast Rice brought my son's BP to normal after 25 years of extremely high BP. I had him on Hawthorne ( whole plant not just the berries ) and it brought it down but now his Dr. is surprised that it is normal. He still takes his meds but he is afraid not to. This started when he had a part of one kidney removed due to atrophy. When the kidneys are not working well, something called retsin is released into the blood that cause the bp to rise. At least retsin is what I remember it is called from what I read years ago.-Walgreens had the REd Yeast rice on sale a while back and I bought a good supply then. This may be taken off the market soon as Big Pharma does not want natural medicine to take away from their profits. It is sold also in Chinese Medicine but do not know the Chinese name for it. This medicine started in in the first place. Dandelion leaf will help normalize the kidneys and the root will help cleanse the liver, so it is also a good idea to take the leaf and root to help normalize BP too. Those of you that are lucky enough to have it growing, harvest now and put away for future use. The tender young leaves are great in salads, Dandelion wine is good too. Look on the Internet for recipes for the wine. Wash and dry roots when the season is almost over.Love, Cecile ************************ ********************************************************************In , Andrea Gauland <dreaquince wrote: > > Hello -- I have been on many prescription meds over the years, for > hypertension/high bp. Guest guest
Apple cider vinegar and cranberry juice are natural diuretics and therefore bring BP down. Several folks on this site have had problems with fluid retention and the cider vinegar seems to really help. So if fluid retention is being reduced BP should be reduced with it. Guest guest
I am not a nutritionist or a doctor or a healer. Just someone that has tried a lot of supplements and alternative medicine options. I can only speak from what I noticed recently, but I found that taking oral magnesium lowered my blood pressure and it also had a wonderful relaxing and calming effect on my entire body. Of course, do your homework, ask your doctor, talk to people that know more than me. Again, I am not trained in any branch of alternative medicine. But I do think that nutrition could be a big factor. Also, are you stressed or do you have a stressful job or life style? Meditation could help and it is something that you could do with no negative side effects and minimal training/effort. 30 minutes a day could have all kinds of wonderful effects on your health. Good luck! , Andrea Gauland <dreaquince wrote: > > Hello -- I have been on many prescription meds over the years, for > hypertension/high bp.
