Hi everyone!

I just found this group tonight while doing research on sleep apnea,

both oe and ce. I read the posts already made here.... but either

missed anything that made recommendation on alternative therapies or

there haven't been any.

I have a friend who has both types... blood pressure is out of control,

and his body is starting to shut down. His dr is trying to get his

insurance to give him a cpap machine... other than that... does anyone

know of anything alternative?

My name is Randi and I have been involved in alternative therapy for

over 20 years now. I am an iridologist and herbalist, although no

longer consulting. I am a single mom of 3, with one still at home. I

live in Colorado.

Thanks for having me, and for ideas you all might share!

Randi

Randi,

Well i have worked with a few people with apnea and it is difficult to

treat. The surgery, though initially painful does work (or at least

did the one time i knew someone who had it), but of course, this

should be last resort.

Often times, anxiety is a portion of the condition, so doing such

things as progressive relaxation and hypnotherapy (good to have

something on cd to listen to before going to sleep while making

suggestions at the same time), are both helpful.

He may also want to consider if there is excess mucus to clear that

out, with herbs, as you are probably familiar with, the regular use of

a neti pot and/or a vaporizer.

Lastly, position during sleep appears to have a factor as well,

encourage him to change and see if any position helps.

Hope this helps,

Tym

Hi Randy,

Stress reduction therapies are a must when you have

high blood pressure. Oxygenation therapies for

breathing issues, which is also a stress reduction

process.

My recommendation is Shaolin Chi Kung. Trust me, you've got to

consider this. Only SHAOLIN chi kung too...it's the most powerful

kind (although there are only three authorized instructors in the US).

Take a look at http://www.Wahnamwest.com. We are actually having this

instructor come to our town to do a workshop and I've created a web

page with an audio interview with him that you will find useful to

listen to. Here's the link: http://www.chikungsitka.com

Shaolin Chi Kung is the real deal and is easy to practice and see

results. My husband has been practicing for a year and his results

are incredible.

I'm planning on starting after our workshop in March. Can't wait.

Good luck and let me know if I can help in any way :)

Best,

Jenn

Randi,

Colorado? Me too. Between Boulder/Denver? Where? Email me

privately as I may have someone local for you if in Denver/metro

area. It is alternative too.

For the group here, sleep apnea I personally met someone who did the

hallelujah diet successfully and seen others testimonies results in

great results. You can search their health tip archives or perhaps

see if they have a testimony for you at their website,

www.hacres.com.

I do lead healthy raw living group in Boulder too. Sergei Boutenko

coming in Feb.
