I am looking for any suggestions on how to treat infections at home.

can anybody suggest anything? I will be buying a book soon. But in

the meantime, I would love any suggestions anyone has to offer.

Thanks.

My favorites are green clay for pulling dirt and toxins out - great

for road rash, splinters and boils, etc.

Also, I have a certified organic ointment called blemish gel which is

great for zits but handy and great for cuts and scrapes.

And, I always have echinacea root on hand and make a strong decoction

to soak infections in (and drink!).

Let me know if you want any specifics on brands, etc.

I do love rosemary gladstars books on herbs.

Best,

Jenn

-It depends what type of infection you are talking about. For scrapes,

boils and rashes that become infected, my grandmother used to get old

white bread and dampen it. She would then put the bread over the

infection and hold in place with bandage or torn strips of cloth. This

method worked very well as the infection cleared up fast, usually one

or two nights. Cecile**************************************************

What KIND of infection?

An infected cut is one thing, an acute " itis "

is something entirely different.

Try Nature first, but once in a while antibiotics

are truly lifesavers.

The trick is to know when to use them, and how to

help the body to recover from the use.

(that's easy. probiotics)

Meanwhile, if things are not acutely urgent,

Echinacea is a wonderful herb, or try massive amounts

of vitamin C. I am not in favor of isolated vitamins,

but in this case the C is used as a benign drug.

Some people swear by colloidal silver, and Renee's

Miracle Mineral sounds great too.

Another tip is massive probiotics. The good little beasties

will create hydrogen peroxide in your body and help to kill

evil invaders.

BUT: if it is urgent, remember modern medicine has its place!

Monitoring symptoms and how quickly they progress is imperative. If not it

could kill you. My body has always dealt with infections well and I have been

bitten by many a domestic and wild animal. Even though I have been bitten by

cats many times it only took one deep puncture wound. I went from a swollen

thumb to a swollen hand that looked liked a red balloon within 24 hours, and had

a red streak up my arm going directly to the chest. I was infected by a very

virulent type of bacteria that my body probably had never been exposed to before

and had not developed any antibodies and resistance to. If not for the IV

antibiotics in the hospital I might not be writing this. They are overused and

I would rather rely on my own immune system but in this case the antibiotics

were a life saver.
