Guest guest
This is embarrassing but I have a LOT of gas and lots of meds for it. I won't go to the bathroom for several days at a time then I have huge bal.ls of bm I sometimes bleed. I do not believe in laxatives but try to get it to go naturally. Then very low in my colon for several days it will hurt pretty bad then quit and here we go again. Could someone else have this problem and tell me what I can do about it,my gastroentroligist is threatning me with a colostomy but I DO NOT THINK SO! I have had several Colonscopies and I have an appointment for another one the end of February. Don't be afraid of the colonscopy as it is the best thing you can do so they can find out what is going on. The first one I had they found a growth that could have turned into cancer but clipped it off and that prevented cancer. My Doctor puts me completely out and when I wake up when it is over with. The hardest thing preparing the procedure. But when you realize the benefits it is not that big of a deal. I have been constipated all my life and have taken laxatives for many years. It is not the best way to go if you can find a way to do it naturally. After my first Colonscopy I found out I have a twisted colon which a large part of my problem. My Digestive Disease doctor has me take a prescription laxative. I also take Psyllium and prunes every day and I drink a lot of which helps. Psyllium is a fiber that I have been taking for over 20 years. Again Please don't be scared of taking a Colonscopy as it is very important Evelyn in Arizona ---- angelladyoct 1/28/2008 6:15:38 AM Intestinal Problems This is embarrassing but I have a LOT of gas and lots of meds for it. Guest guest
Lack of water, fatty acids and fiber will create constipation that does this. Adding whole grains, coconut oil or sesame oil to your diet, drinking more water and eating more raw fruit and vegetables will make a difference. Avoid dairy products, processed and artificial sugars and processed flours. If it's been bleached it's no good for you. Also massaging the Illeocecal Valve and the Valve of Houston on either side of the abdomen will help those valves to open or close as necessary and relieve the pain, promoting a bm. To find these valves, put both your thumbs in your naval and spread your pinkie fingers out toward your hips. Under the palm of your hands will the the Illeocecal on the right and the Valve of Houston on the left. Massage deeply 10-15 times in a clockwise circle. Do this several times a day for the first week, the taper off when the bowels start eliminating more frequently. Dry hard stools come from lack of hydration and fiber. Gas comes from putrifying fecal matter that is not being eliminated properly. The bleeding comes from fissures which are small tears in the wall of the rectum/anus or from hemorroids that become inflammed when trying to pass a stool that is too large and too dry. You should be having a bowel movement every 6-12 hours after each meal. They should be the size of a newborn baby's arm and approx 12 inches in length. They should not float, stink, be light in color, be greasy or sticky.
