Guest guest
Anyone who can give me a suggestion is deeply appreciated. I started menopause some years back and it has been 2 years or so since I had my last period which was already coming once a year. During these past 4 years, I haven't done a thing for my symptoms which were pretty mild, with the exception of night sweats and hot flashes. The thing is: I have gained some staggering 40 lbs! At present, I am taking the Natural Progesterone Cream and Iodine, as my thyroid is lazy. But the thing is, everything I eat makes me gain weight, if you can conceive that. In the summer I did the Master Cleanse, and every time I stop a fast, I put more weight than that I had started with. I am a vegetarian and eat whole foods, so this is not a question of changing my eating habits. Since the summer before the MC, I gained 15lb! I have been doing some very light exercises because with my reconstruction, it becomes difficult to move on the floor. These past 3 months I have not exercised because I hurt my shoulder which is now getting better, so I plan to re-start the exercise for seniors that I was doing. Hauling all this weight is very painful and even more so, I feel extremely unhappy with such a foreign body. It was already painful to see it so scarred and changed but now, adding 40lb is not a pretty sight. I even began hating to take a shower. Could you please, help me? I must reverse all this! Also, a gentle " Law of Attraction " reminder to watch those statements: " everything I eat makes me gain weight " . ;-) First, you'll need to determine the cause of your weight gain. Consider those extra pounds a 'symptom' of something more going on. Insulin resistance? Adrenal fatigue and excess cortisol? Until we address the cause, even weight that's lost will often come back. I recently wrote an article on stress and midlife weight gain. You can check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/34q9qf It was also the topic of my January newsletter, so if you'd like a copy, just email me at: michelle Michelle
Guest guest
Hi Dr. Marie, I would first like you to calculate your bodies true caloric needs at this time. _Calories Burned, BMI, BMR & RMR Calculator | CaloriesPerHour.com_ (http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.php) Figure out how many calories you need based on your activity each day. It takes about 1440 calories to maintain a comatose person's life on a respirator. YOur body burns 162 calories per hour just watching t.v. So what things do you do? Once you figure out how many calories you need per day, we will continue onto the next step. in loving kindness, Linda It's been one year since going through my own menopause. **************Start the year off right.
