Guest guest
Hi Friends, I have a oily skin. But that is not so much of a problem. The problem is Acne. There are so many tiny pimples and acne on my face, specially when I have to go to a function! There's never a day when something new is not forming on my face. The new one appear as soon as the older ones are going. What can I do to have a clear glowing face? My husband tells me to go to Kaya Skin Clinic, but I have read some bad reviews about it (some of which said it made incurable damage to their face) which make me feel I should avoid taking risk with such an already- sensitive skin. Can somebody suggest any home remedy which actually works! Have read many ayurvedic home remedies, but nothing has been able to clear the face and make it look clean and nice. Is there anything which does not require every minute attention but gives good results? Awaiting genuine, tried out, replies. Thanks and regards, Vantika

Guest guest
Acne is actually a response the body has to rid itself of toxins. The pores become clogged as a result of eating processed foods, & using personal care products w/ chemicals in them. One very helpful way is by altering your diet & adding in healthier foods. Should you want support w/ this, I am a Holistic Health Counselor & I'd love to help you on your way to better eating & a healthier life. wendypercoulis www.wendypercoulis.com
Guest guest
Put honey on your face a few times a week. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes and wash off. I've had an unclear face for years (not really bad acne or anything but very noticable). I started putting honey a few times a week, using ACV/water mix for toner and a few times a week as an exfoliant I use baking soda (looking for a better alternative to this as it can be quite harsh after prolonged use and thinking of some type of rough flour). My skin has been extremely clear ever since I started this regimine. And I don't do it every day sometimes-but skin stay very nice. Just what has worked for me and finally soap, cleanser free! Guest guest
My acne cleared up when I stopped using acne products and put a water filter on my shower. Don't wash your face with soap more than once a day. Actually, every other day is fine. And use a mild organic soap. I like Kiss My Face olive oil soaps. If you do happen to get a break out, I tend to get a zit or two during my time of the month, I like Burts Bees Garden Tomato soap for those days. Most of the time I just wash my face with warm water. I'm telling you, not only did my acne clear up within a week of instituting this more casual routine, but after about a year my scars had faded so dramatically that no one believes me now when I tell them I used to have really bad acne. I don't even wear make up anymore. Of course it does help to eat healthy and get enough water, that helps countless things on your body, but I swear to god, acne products are designed to clear your skin temporarily and then make it come back worse. Check out the book The Truth About Beauty by Kat James, I believe. That book changed my life. , " Miracle Yorkies " <miracleyorkies wrote: > > Best thing for acne is Zinc as a supplement in your daily diet. > > Marsha and the Yorkies > http://www.miracleyorkies.com > >

It is definitely no fun! Let me just start by saying that there isn't any " miracle cure " out there -- I have been searching for that holy grail for a long time. But I will share with you my routine (tedious as it may be) -- consistancy with this is really the only thing that helps me. I definitely know it if I skip a step! I take my showevers at night. This way, you wash away all of the dirt and oil buildup from the day when you are sweating and your metabolism is kicking. You give your skin a clean slate to start healing overnight while you rest. Also, don't wear makeup! Or, I find that 100% pure mineral powders are fine for my skin (make sure that there are no preservatives/parabens etc etc) When I wash I use Dr. Bronner's castille soap. I buy the unscented variety, and sometimes add tea tree or lavender essential oils (definitely not fragrance oils! These will only be harmful to your skin). This soap can be very drying if your skin is sensitive, so mix 3 parts soap and 1 part hazelnut oil (hazelnut has astringent properties, and is great for oily skin!). Massage in and let foam, then leave on your face for a minute or so, and wash off with warm water. I mix hazelnut oil with some coconut oil to apply to my face after cleansing. I've heard that coconut oil clogs your pores.... I have not had this experience with it, but if that is the case with you omit the coconut oil. Other light oils that are good for oily skin are sweet almong and apricot kernal. Play around with these until you find a mixture that agrees with you. Finally, I know that this is the terrible " T " word that every dermatologist loathes.... but I got tanning! I sun myself in the warmer months and tan for a few minutes once a week during the winter. I sneak in my own blend of hempseed oil and green tea extract, german chamomile and carrot seed essential oils. I just tell the attendants that it's hemp seed oil, which is found in most of their artificial and destructive tanning lotions, so they let me in with it. Honestly, I spent eight years avoiding the sun at all costs because everyone told me it was horrible and would make my skin worse.... and when I stopped listening to them, my skin cleared up! Anyway, this is just my experience. Just remember to be patient and consistant=) And be gentle and forgiving to your skin. A lot of the time we feel angry towards our skin for being the way that it is, but what we need to focus on is healing our skin not only on the surface, but from the inside out. That's why it's important to drink plenty of water and eat plenty of whole, nutrient-dense foods. Supporting the liver and other eliminitive organs is a must as well. Anyway, I've rambled on far too long! Good luck, Rose
Guest guest
Vantika, If you use a blue light on the face in the 445nm wavelength for just six minutes per day, according to NASA research it will kill the bacteria which causes acne eruptions. The light penetrates approx. 5 centimeters into the skin killing the bacteria below the skin so eruption does not occur. Supposedly if you use it daily for three months the skin will clear up nicely. If you were to combine this LED bluelight therapy along with the advice from the other responses, you will surely succeed. Good Luck! p.s. I am currently constructing an easy to use mask for your type of problem. As a teen I suffered from your same problem and ended up scarred for life. So I am using technology and nutrition to save my kids from the same fate. The scars from acne include psychological pain. > -- In , " Vantika " > <vantikagupta@> wrote: > > > > Hi Friends, > > > > I have a oily skin. But that is not so much of a problem. Guest guest
You may want to try this: Cut a green lemon into half. Take one of the pieces and roll the same all over the areas (including your Scalp for possible Dandruff)while squeezing the same as you cover more skin area. Let it stay for 20 - 30 minutes and than take a shower. I would suggest try this for no more than 3 days a week for a couple of weeks and you should start seeing a more healthy and beautiful skin. This will not interfere with anything else you are doing nor will it spoil or aggravate you skin and is not an expensive treatment. All the best. Guest guest
As Rose said the sun or artificial sun does clear up acne. Some may have seen special lighting units in clinics that give out a violet or blue color. These are installed to kill airborne pathogens especially where there may be higher concentration of them such as a clinic waiting room that would have a higher prevalence of people who are ill. The flip side of this is skin cancer and I am not sure how sun screens interfere with the pathogen killing properties of sun or artificial sun light. Some medications or natural supplements will increase sun sensitivity. I was on one such medication and then got diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma, a fairly mild type of skin cancer that is easily removed and treated. I am not one to lay in the sun but love to walk, bike, garden, etc. in Spring and Summer. So use caution and have your skin checked regularly if it is getting exposure. I see a dermatologist once a year now just to be sure. I would also recommend a derma abrasion cloth for washing. Be gentle at first. You do not use soap with these but just plain warm water. You will be amazed at how they remove oil, dirt, dead skin, etc. Use small circular motions. You can pay a lot from some specialty store for these but the reality is that the so called miracle cloths for general cleaning are the same thing. I get mine at a local dollar store as they are thinner and cheaper, and easier to wash the face with. You skin will be very dry after washing so I would use what Rose has recommended for your skin. Some moisturizers could aggravate the problem. Richard Fear is a natural reaction to moving closer to the truth. ---Pema Chödrön
Guest guest
I would also offer that it would be well to do a long term cleanse as well. Drinking lemon/lime water in the morning with warm/hot water is a good start. Take castor oil packs also is very helpful. Lastly, though there's the social stigma, receiving colonics to remove toxins from the system can really help if there is the application of a disinfectant especially. Guest guest
For acne you should wash your face every morning and every night with soap thats not scented or anything fancy. just regular soap. wash off makeup every night and use lotion. Also remember what you eat has a effect on your face, try to stay away from overly salty foods or oily foods. Also, drink water! Guest guest
For me none of the acne stuff work very well and I always seemed to have uneven skin. Drinking more water didn't help either. I do know that if you digestion is flowing properly then you will have more breakouts. Eating yogurt helps mine. What I do is find a cleanser that is deep cleansing and use it at the end of the day to get my makeup and other dirt off my skin and out of my pores. Then in the morning I just wash with a clean cloth and warm water and use a toner made of witchhazel and apple cider vinegar (half & half diluted with chemical free water til is not harsh on the face) and I add few drops of tea tree oil to that and follow with aloe vera gel instead of lotion of any kind. Don't over cleanse the skin or it will just produce more oil. , " Vantika " <vantikagupta wrote: > > Hi Friends, > > I have a oily skin. But that is not so much of a problem. The problem > is Acne. Guest guest
Namaste, I used ProActive years ago, before they had celebrities. It is a good product that really works. There is a product called Zeno (myzeno.com) that is an battery powered device used to kill the infection and clear up acne and pimples. Do a detox, and that will help. Stop sweet things. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables and drink lots of clean water. Their are oatmeal and other natural face masks, cleansers, etc. that help as well. Good luck. Blessings! Guest guest
What is working for me now...better than the ProActiv I WAS using...is to take my makeup off with pure Witch Hazel every night, then use a small amount of coconut oil before bed. I then use a small amount of coconut oil on my face again after my shower in the morning. I also apply it on my neck and upper back, where I tend to have breakouts. My 14 year old son is also having success with this method. My 17 year old son, however, won't give the coconut oil a try, so he is using something I got at Wal-Mart called Acne Free. , " chick6984 " <chick6984 wrote: > > For acne you should wash your face every morning and every night with > soap thats not scented or anything fancy. just regular soap. wash off > makeup every night and use lotion. Guest guest
I struggled with acne for years, the bad cystic kind (from the 7th grade through college, and even now I'll get a flair up at 40 from time to time). Went through the usual treatments: antibiotics (which I don't recommend, especially for the long-term), acutane, retin-A, etc. What I found helped most of all was just giving up dairy. I wish I would've known that when I was younger. Since I was on antibiotics for soooo many years, I've got a compromised immune system (lots of colds, plus it turned my teeth yellow!) A good book to read is the Acne Prescription by Nicholas Perricone. It lists foods that are anti-inflammatory and those that cause inflammation (and thus acne). A simple diet change may be all you need. Teri

U. vitamin A daily for three months then cut back to 25,000 I.U. for three months, then 10,000 I.U. daily. 50 mg. zinc tablet daily Drink plenty of water and stay away from greasy foods including chocolate which is loaded with cocoa butter. Add probiotics such as yogurt and kefir to your diet and plenty of fresh veges and fruits. This diet regime usually shows dramatic results pretty quickly and is long lasting. blessings, deb, C.N. Guest guest
there are many things to recommend-the advice on diary is good-plenty of water-no coffee or tea or alcahol, clean skin and clothes, clean hair, good diet, and Edgar Cayce, recommends 4 almonds per day to help with acne----red clover tea also helps with cysts so perhaps you could give it a try as well-it is quite pleasant with honey. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
