Guest guest
Hello: Does anyone have a natural way (no harsh chemicals) to clean out an automatic coffee maker on a regular basis? Thanks for your help. Diane M. Diedrich Jewels By Park Lane http://myparklane.com/sparkle
Guest guest
Yes. I run white vinegar through the pot periodically. If the pot holds 10 cups, then put 5 coffee cups of vinegar and 5 coffee cups of water into the reservoir and run it through 2 - 3 times until the water is coming out dark brown. Then run clear plain water through a few times and when the water comes out clear, the pot is cleaned. Linda **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
pour 1 cup of white vinegar in , add some water and brew. Repeat with no vinegar. Done once a month it will keep it clean. As for the pot, fill halfway with crushed ice, add a small handful of salt. Start spinning the ice around. It will scrub off all the stains if done long enough. Good luck! > > Hello: > > Does anyone have a natural way (no harsh chemicals) to clean out an > automatic coffee maker on a regular basis? Thanks for your help. > > Diane M. Guest guest
Run a full pot of white vinegar through & then plain water 2 times to make sure vinegar is flushed out
Guest guest
Vinegar is a good way to clean it out and remove hard water deposits. Just make sure to run a few pots of clean water after the vinegar. Use the cheap white vinegar. Not so good for recipes and ingesting but great for the coffee pot. Guest guest
Aren't those coffee-maker tanks usually made out of aluminum? That's like boiling your water in an aluminum pan.
