Guest guest
Take her to the doctor and make sure that everything internally is okay. She should also get a blood test done and make sure she is not low in Iron. take care Lisa - debbie26111 Friday, January 11, 2008 7:45 AM 15 year old peroid problems Hi all my dd who is 15 started her peroid late almost when she turned 15, actuall her first one ealrier than six months later she got another one, but her problem is she gets one and it last up to three weeks, it is all messed up, she wants to go on somekind of hormone to help her, but I don't want to go that way. she is tall and not fat. Guest guest
Hi, I would suggest seeing an OB. you dont have to start hormones, they do have simple procedures they can do for heavy bleeding now. It wouldnt hurt to go see what your options are- its better then having them so messed up. My daughter is 15 and has pms problems (really bad). maybe is its something passed down, she gets them straightened out now she wont have problems later in life- good luck! Guest guest
You may try the following if it appeals to you. It is only a question of harmonal imbalance. If you know Reiki, you just heal the Pituitary glands, thyroid glands and ovaries. I am sure there would be good improvement. If you do not know Reiki, just keep your hands in these glands for 10 minutes each. bala - debbie26111 <debbie26111 Saturday, January 12, 2008 10:23 pm 15 year old peroid problems > Hi all my dd who is 15 started her peroid late almost when she > turned > 15, actuall her first one ealrier than six months later she got > another > one, but her problem is she gets one and it last up to three > weeks, it > is all messed up, she wants to go on somekind of hormone to help > her, > but I don't want to go that way. she is tall and not fat. Guest guest
Ask the doctor to do a blood test for PCOS. It is hereditary so you may have it as well. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, Please consider seeing an alternative doctor to determine and address the CAUSE of your daughters hormonal imbalance (estrogen dominance). An allopathic doctor usually just treats the symptom (heavy, irregular periods) and most likely prescribe the pill to regulate her cycle. The last thing she needs is synthetic estrogens and progestin! In the meantime, use only organic meats and dairy products to avoid excess estrogens. Eliminate endocrine disruptors from her bodycare products and household cleaning products. Good luck! Guest guest
Warning - the first thing a gyno will do is offer your daughter birth control pills. DO NOT put her on them! They will interfere with her hormones for the rest of her life. (Been there, done that!) Remember that at 15, her body is still growing and maturing. It is normal to have irregular periods in the teen years. Some of the hormonal swings are necessary for proper brain development. The best thing you can do (after you have had any physical problems like fibroids and cysts ruled out) is to monitor her diet. Cut the caffeine and sugar-laden junk food. I have seen many teens experience relief of " heavy " and " crampy " periods by just eating better. Try to limit her dairy and meat intake... unless you are taking care to give her hormone-free products. Also, watch out for endocrine-disrupting chemicals in her personal care products. Things like sodium laurel sulfate in her body wash and shampoo, triclosan in the hand sanitizer, propylene glycol, and on and on. This chemicals get sucked right in through the skin and affect our hormones. Start teaching her NOW that the choices she makes every day affect her hormones, and will continue to until she is an old lady! Shana Hormone Health... Guest guest
Definitaly go get it checked out by a doctor, maybe theres a internal problem that youre not aware of. Im not a fan of birth control to regulate periods because i know many women have irregular cycles so i know its common. But really go to a doctor, amybe she is a slow developer.
