Eyebright.

Make a tea out of it, wait for it to cool and use as an eye drop. Cured my

kids' pink-eye.

P.S. Who the crap is saying that you don't love them because you won't

poison them? IMHO whoever said that needs to be shown (or volunteer) at a

battered women's shelter and see what happens when someone does not " love "

you.

P.S.S. How is an antibiotic supposed to help inflammation?

Herbal Remedies - Eye poblem

Do you know what to do for an inflamed eye that has a scratch on it?

The doctor told her to get an antibiotic. She says I don't love her

because I won't spend 20 dollars to get the medication. Of course i

love her; but I don't buy medications. Thank you for the help.

It was my daughter who is almost 17 who said I didn't love her if I

would buy her the antibiotic that she " needed " not my idea. I am

allergic to antibiotics.

  • 3 years later...

This started a couple of days ago, and it has gotten worse since. My

left eye has gotten very dry, and it itches all of the time. Plus,

today it has felt like my eyelids have been sticking together. My mom

thiks it might be pink eye, but I'm not sure yet. I have been keeping

a cold wet rag on it today, and it seems to have helped a little. Is

there anything else I could do to make it feel better? This is

my " good " eye, and I am legally blind in the other one. Please reply.

Colby - If this were pink eye, your eye would be red/pink. As it is not and

you have the classic 'sticking' together, IF this is sticking without

'sticyness', i.e. pussy stuff, then, would suggest dry eye, that is Sjogrens.

Bath in warm water, do NOT try to unstick eyelid with fingers. Get to a

basin and cupped hands of warm water to initially 'unstick' eye - otherwise

could cause an abrasion! (Been there and done it to myself!) Now, would

suggest

a check up with an opthalmologist. Needs looking at with a slit lamp to

ensure nothing untoward going on. But do get it checked.

Now, mostly this condition, which sounds like a 'possible' Sjogrens, is

treated not with drugs but with straight warm water, and artificial tears. Get

the ones without the preservative. A one-shot dose in a tiny applicator.

Also can get Lubri-Lube, ditto, without the preservative. Lubri-Lube is a

viscous ointment, applied at night - looks a bit like vaseline, but is not

vaseline. This should see you right. But do get your eyes checked out.

Best to you -

Molly

Simalsan has a pink eye drop; perhaps that would help. You can find

Simalsan all over now - in regular drug stores as well as health food

stores.

I'll also tell you how to make an eye drop that always helps me a lot.

I've never needed it for pink eye, but I don't think it can hurt to

try. Boil a half cup of filtered water, stir in an eighth teaspoon of

goldenseal - I use goldenseal tea bags and measure out what I need.

Cover this and let it sit for 15 minutes. Strain out the tea leaves;

stir in an eighth teaspoon of sea salt. You can keep this a week if

refrigerated, a few days if not. Once you have the goldenseal and sea

salt, it's real easy to make a fresh batch when you need it.

When I had pink-eye (after a piece of wood scratched around in there),

I put a HOT wet cotton ball on it, hot as I could stand it. It took

just a few times, and it cleared up. Found that remedy online.
