Guest guest
I get a daily newsletter from a lady by the name of Mary Hunt. Her letter is called the Everyday Cheapskate. If you that name you can sign up for lots of helpful and money saving hints. She has many. Also, once you sign up for her newsletter, you'll have access to some nice and less toxic laundry soap recipes. The one I use is: 1 cup of Arm & Hammer Washing Soda (not baking soda!), 1 cup of 20 Mule Team Borax, 1/2 bar of Fels Naptha Soap. Mix these together and keep in a tightly sealed container. I use this soap 1 tablespoon per big load, but you could use more if your things are REALLY soiled. The water does not foam up but it cleans my clothes well and it doesn't leave smells behind. At 1 tablespoon per load this soap lasts a really long time, and I like the fact that it is not as bad for Mother Earth as the ones found at the grocery store. I've been using this soap for a couple of years. Good luck!
