Pap smears during pregnancy?

I am not pregnant but am trying to conceive. Have been trying for 4

years. Anyway, I got curious today and was reading some information on

a different forum on . Several women posted that they had been

pregnant, had gone to their ob/gyn and gotten a pap smear - and next

day, had a miscarriage. I noticed elsewhere on the net, that doctors

swear that this procedure is " perfectly safe " during pregnancy.

However, I wonder about this. It is an invasive procedure. Some women

experience bleeding and cramping afterwards. One woman claimed her

doctor " forced " Her to have the procedure! I can't stand hearing about

women being bullied into medical procedures by their doctors.

When a doctor bullies the best reaction is to leave.

More often than not " screening " procedures actually can

cause the disease they are screening for. JAMA itself

noted, I believe in December 2002, that at two mammograms

the woman's chance of breast cancer begins to increase over

not getting them at all.

When you abuse a part of the body for a " screening " test,

you are probably increasing the risk of the disease you

are screening for.

My daughter was very adverse to ultrasounds during her

pregnancies.

You said you have been trying for four years to get

pregnant? There are three circuits I balance in my work

that I have to warn people that they may become fertile,

especially when done on both sides of the couples at the

same time. In fact, I have seen many pregnancies come

from balancing those circuits on both sides at once.

My daughter's neighbors had been trying for some time

and decided they would never have a second child (first

one was 5-6). Balancing the circuits on them, in 10

months they had a new little one. I've seen it with

many others as well.

Two hormone circuits and pituitary (for those who are

wondering what circuits).

You're welcome to contact me if you wish to see if

it works for you.

Thanks for the information. What kind of therapy do you practice? Is it hormone

balancing? I'd like to hear more. I live in Texas, however. I'd need to find a

practitioner here. I have been trying for 4 years to get pregnant. My estrogen

levels were always way too high. Losing weight helped them go down, but I've put

back on the weight again. I've been seeing REs and getting IUI, IVF, etc. I saw

one RE who tried to bully me into getting a mammogram, before he would consider

doing IVF with me. I left him and found a different RE. I asked me ob/gyn if I

could have a breast sonogram instead, or an MRI - she refused to refer me for

that. So, I got a full body thermography scan recently, instead. I do feel women

are bullied by the medical profession to get mammograms, and its a potentially

dangeorous procedure.

Oh, and I also had an employer who tried to make everyone at work get a flu

shot, I refused. I've never had one - never will !

I had never thought of it in this light before, but now that you

mention it, I had my last pap smear in February of this year and

shortly afterward, I miscarried. The ultrasound showed that the baby

stopped growing the day of my OB appointment. I'm going to ask my

friend who's a midwife.

It seems, though, that you can easily avoid it by ensuring that a

pregnancy test is done before you do a pap smear. The urine test

results can be obtained quickly & the pap avoided if you're pregnant.

No doctor can force you to have a procedure.

On the other hand, if it were that easy to

provoke a miscarriage, think of what the

political landscape would look like..

Quite different! No, I do NOT want to

start a fruitless discussion on the A word.

Just think about it. If it were that easy,

would we have those bitter fights?

My daughter had a pap test at 2 months and then they did another one because the

hpv virus came bake moderate high the first time. The other pap test was at 8

months and she is fine. The test for the hpv virus came back really low this

time and i was told that it can go dorment in your body when some obgyn tell you

it cant.

--Many women in the old days called LYDIA PINKHAM'S VEGETABLE COMPOUND -

-- " A BABY IN EVERY BOTTLE " -Due to becoming pregnant after using it for

menstrual cramps or other women's problems. It is still available in

some drugstores and I found this site

Here is the " Ballad of Lydia Pinkham "

Let us sing of Lydia Pinkham

The benefactress of the human race.

She invented a vegetable compound,

And now all papers print her face.

Mrs. Jones she had no children,

And she loved them very dear.

So she took three bottles of Pinkham's

Now she has twins every year.

I have also heard that some women fail to become pregnant because of

very thick mucous plugging the opening to the uterus. So to dissolve

the plug they take Robitussin cough syrup because it dissolves mucous a

in the body as well as the lungs.

I thought I would pass these beliefs on to you and who knows, they just

might work.God Luck!

This is a forum (see link below) where some women wrote in claiming their pap

smear caused their miscarriage:

http://www.steadyhealth.com/Miscarriage_after_a_pap_smear_lp536184.html

I don't know what to think. I would probably refuse the pap smear, because I

have never had a bad result come back and I don't have HPV. I don't feel its

necessary. I'm more concerned about staying pregannt, because if I ever do get

pregnant it will be a miracle.

Hi Lendy,

Total Body Modification is the technique that balances

the two hormone circuits plus pituitary, which often will

cause great fertility. Hundreds of babies have been born

after both sides of " infertile " couples had the work done

on the same day. TBM is world-wide:

Also EFT may be useful as well as other techniques.

Thanks for the link. I added it to my favorites, and will do some calling later

in the week. I hope its affordable. I'm already paying for weekly acupuncture

and twice weekly chiropractic care.
