Guest guest
Sandi, Have you tried scrubbing down in the shower with olive oil and a little sea salt? Works wonders for me, and of course add lovely eos to the mixture. One of my favorites is orange / lavender. Guest guest
Try this 1 ounce shea butter (unrefined) 1 ounce naturally refined shea butter 1 ounce jojoba 1 ounce rose hip seed oil 2 drops lavender 1 drop rose oil ( I like any good rose otto)- they are all so fine! melt down the fats and add the essential oils..let cool in the freezer for about 10 minuts. ahhhhhhhh anastasia http://www.anastasiasideas.com , " Sandi Lundberg " <injoy@x> wrote: > Could use some suggestions on this. Guest guest
anyone have a helpful suggestion for dry skin especially on legs and ankles for an older that is diabetic.
Guest guest
Extra Virgin Olive Oil works great for me. I live in high desert and that works better than any moisturizer or lotion. Also add Essential Fatty Acids to the diet and more water. Guest guest
Hello, I'm sorry about your dry skin. I have the same problem in those areas. I recently bought a shower filter and it got better immediately. Not sure if same for anyone else. Granted, I'm not diabetic, just have very big legs and ankles and very dry and scaly. It seems to also get better if I have the humidifyer on 24/7. The dry winter air must be just sucking it right out of my skin. Good luck! , " Robert " <antiqmon2004 wrote: > > anyone have a helpful suggestion for dry skin especially on legs and > ankles for an older that is diabetic. >

How about sesame oil? I'm not sure where it registers on the diabetic safety scale, but in Ayurveda, it's recommended to rub it on the feet & cover with socks before bed to help with sleep. Many older people could use help in that department, too. I'm not older or diabetic, but it works for me. I would think that coconut oil or olive oil would work well, too. Guest guest
Try the following remedy which I am using for dry skin: Prepare a mixture of oilive oil added with 10% glycerin, 10% lemon juice and 5% honey. Shake the mixture well before use. It is better to use it immediately after bath Stephanie Jackson <SMc42TX wrote: > anyone have a helpful suggestion for dry skin especially on legs and > ankles for an older that is diabetic. Guest guest
This may have already been suggested, but in addition to using EFA's and drinking more water, extra virgin, organic coconut oil used internally is healthy and effective. And, of course you can use it topically as well. Michelle http://www.HolisticMenopause.com
Guest guest
Olive oil and Coconut oil is high in Essential Fatty Acids...don't forget the Sesame oil also. Cold pressed is best.
