Guest guest
That makes a huge difference doesn't it?? I have had chronic sinusitis for years and my ENT recommended NeilMed Sinus Rinse....it comes with the bottle and some packets to use and the doc also gave me his recipe so I would not have to buy the salt packets all the time and he recommended distilled water also. I was having such pain the other night and did the rinse and the stuff that came out!! No wonder I had such pressure!! I am glad you have found some relief too. I've never used a netti pot, but I've seen pictures and I'm not sure I'd want to or could for that matter, but I'm open to learning more from user comments. Guest guest
To me the pot or nasal syringe is so much better because it flushes more out of the sinuses that the saline spray. My doc gave me a recipe that included baking soda and salt...sea salt or the kosher. With the warm..not tooo....warm water not only does it flush the stuff out the combination of the soda and salt seem to help stop the pain and swelling for me anyway.. Good luck Lynn Lynn Latham blue_texasgal (\__/) (='.'=) This is Bunny. Guest guest
Jean, I've recently began using the neti pot for sinus problems at the advice of my physician (anout a solid month). I can say (for me) it's a better choice over the nasal spray because I'm in control of what the ingredients are and their quantity. The water flow is also user controlled. Once you get adjusted (head tilting) to have the water solution enter one nostril and exit the other - which by the way took maybe two attempts - its real simple. Plus, it takes 3-5 mins max. I've found my breathing is much deeper, easier. It really helps with early morning congestion. Also with the cold & flu season here, I've managed to not come down with any (sans flu shots). Hope this helps. The neti pot actually flushes out the sinus cavity, instead of just misting it with spray. It looks difficult & uncomfortable, but it is neither. I believe there is no better way to alleviate allergy symptoms. It leaves a great, clean feeling.

I'll be picking one up tomorrow to try using sea salt. Jean
