Guest guest
Internally, echinacea (tincture), externally, diluted tea tree oil. We deal with white tail spider bites here in New Zealand, and they can turn rather nsaty rather quickly, but even so, I wouldn't think you'd need antibiotics unless it was infected? If you are in the country, chew some leaves of either yarrow or plantain, apply the paste to the bite and swallow the juice. Amazingly effective. A paste made with baking soda works too. These days I travel with a handy one-ounce bottle of Sangre de Drago in my purse, as a first aid kit, just in case. It takes care of insect stings too, even a very painful wasp sting right under my eye. And last but not least: at the slightest suspicion of Lyme Disease, see a doctor. Guest guest
Try steeping green tea, the bulk kind. Make it really strong. Apply it to the bite with a cotton ball while its warm and save the left overs in the fridge. After it dries apply vitamin E oil and Vitamin A & D oil to it. It it starts to turn black and get full of puss you need to go to the doctor right away. Brown recluse bits can kill you if your not careful. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Lavender and tea tree oil and citrus (lemon or tangerine) essential oils can help draw out venom. We just experienced this in our home yesterday - my daughter (18 months old) stepped on a bee. We heard her crying but didn't figure out the cause right away. We got the bee off and moved her to the light but the stinger was still in - took us longer than it should have to get it out! By the time we removed the stinger (It was stuck between her pinky and " ring finger " toe in a very hard to access place) her foot was already starting to swell....the area of puffy redness included both of those toes, the pads of both toes and half of the third toe/ball of the foot. I grabbed tea tree first becuase it was closest and happened to have a lavender/tangerine relaxation blend I had made for a client so I used that as well and applied liberally to her foot and rubbed it in pretty well. 30 minutes later we had to leave so I applied extra oils again and put on her socks and shoes. 2 hours later we took her shoes off to show her grandmother where she'd been stung and there was NO redness or puffiness at all. You could see the mark where the stinger went into her foot - a tiny red dot - but NO puffiness AT ALL. It was amazing! Today I mixed a blend of 40% tea tree, 40% lavender and 20% tangerine/lemon and put 1/2 oz of my new " anti-venom " blend in my purse for " just in case " moments. If you wanted something to try before while trying to decide whether to see a Dr. the oils certainly couldn't hurt! Blessings, Angela <>< Plants and Bulbs Department Writer at Suite101. Guest guest
Hi, Sometimes Tea Tree oil can help bites (and pimples) dry out. Also, the homeopathic remedy Apis really helped me with an inflamed spider bite I had. Guest guest
A friend lost her husband last year to a spider bite. He was only 48. Hey, I'm totally into holistic health and alternative medicine, but spider bites can be very dangerous and aren't something to mess around with. Guest guest
For a spider or bug bite or bee sting, I would use Purification essential oil blend from Young Living -- and I have! Had good results, too.
