Not my Mothers but someone else's, though mine made & quot;hot toddy's that

contained whiskey. One of my Mother's best recipes was for her own

homemade cough syrup. It sounds gross, but,it's the best cough syrup on earth! It

has only 2 ingredients   MOTHER'S COUGH SYRUP 1/2 cup Whiskey Peppermint Candy

Put whiskey in a covered jar with lid. Add peppermint candy to above the

whiskey. Seal and set aside. In a few days the candy will melt to syrup. *Use 1

teaspoon for coughing as needed. Store in cabinet sealed for later use. If to

thick, add another Tablespoon or so of whiskey. If to thin, add more peppermints.

No doctor's prescription will compare to this recipe,to curtail the coughing!

Don't worry about using the whiskey for medicinal purposes. All cough syrup

contains a percentage of alchol anyway. Hope this helps you.Group

Well, my Mother used garlic instead of peppermint candy, it kept me from

getting terrible colds when I was a child.
