Guest guest
My friend is going to go from the States to Australia a month, in January. She will be visiting Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand. Her primary doctor recommended she get a HEP A and B vaccination since she'll be eating in the outback and in the rainforest. She would only be able to get one shot before she leaves, the doctor told her that the second shot would normally be in six months. My friend wants to know if she should bother getting the vaccination at all or would having one shot of the vaccine give her any protection. She is having blood work done to see if she has any immunity built up. Thank you Mary
Guest guest
HEP shots are given in a series, the first shot will give you immunization in week or two and the second boost the shot to give coverage that last for years instead of months. HEP A is a good idea if she will be in rural areas as you can contract it from water. My doctor only recommends HEP B if your going to be in contact with bodily fluids. She should check the CDC to see what is recommended for those regions and see a doctor who does travel advisory. , " Dobe Crazy " <padobes wrote: > > My friend is going to go from the States to Australia a month, in January. > She will be visiting Australia, Tasmania and New Zealand.
