Guest guest
Hi,I was wanting to see if anyone could give me some insight to a certain modality of therapy I have had done. Unfortunately I have moved away and lost contact with my therapist. When I was living in Texas, I went to a LMT every week, and actually about six times a month. She introduced a modality to me that worked absolute wonders for me in the way of stress relief, though it worked too for allergies and once when I hurt my knee. I do not have a name for the modality and it may be something my former therapist developed on her own. I would lay face down on the table with just my shoes and socks removed. She would do a very light strokng on the soles of the feet. It was not a relaxing sensation but more of a stimulation. It was very methodical though. She said she got the idea from a man named Kelloge who used toothpicks to stroke the feet. She used her fingertips, very short nails, and a few other things she had on hand. She told me the purpose was two-fold: to trigger reflex points and stimulate the nerves, but also to induce laughter...which it did. I know it sounds odd, but it totally took my stres away as well as left me in a euphoric state and high energy for two or three days. It was simply amazing! I've had full body massage and reflexology, but they did nothing like this! Is this something anyone has ever heard of? Thanks!
