Guest guest
Restoring the adrenals takes time and a consistent, positive change in lifestyle and diet. Here are some good places to start: Dietary changes ~ Eliminate stimulants and reduce carbohydrates. Notice if you're using these to keep you going throughout the day and find healthy alternatives. Drink more pure water. Reduce and/or eliminate refined and over-processed foods and preservatives. Supplementation ~ There are some great vitamin and herb formulations available to support your adrenals. Michael's has a good one at www.MichaelsHealth.com. (If using medications, always check for contraindications before adding supplements or herbs) Be sure to include essential fatty acids in your diet, especially Omega 3. Learn stress management skills ~ Take up yoga, meditation, walking, deep breathing or any activity that helps you better manage the stress in your life. Get more rest ~ Reevaluate your priorities and simplify your life wherever possible. Allow yourself to rest and give yourself permission to have a " do nothing " day now and then. Get plenty of sleep. Tend to unhealed (past and present) wounds ~ Grief, guilt, shame, losses from the past, self-destructive habits, unresolved relationship issues and more can have a constant negative impact on your adrenal glands. Hope this helps, Michelle http://www.HolisticMenopause.com
