Guest guest
Can everyone share their prevention methods for the flu whether it be homeopathic, flu shot, herbs, or any other things? I think it would be good for everyone to know what it out there and what their options are as we creep upon the season. Personally i've used a homeopathic nosode in the past but not sure if I want to do that again this year. No flu shots for me in a million years. Thanks, Marci

Guest guest
Great anti-everything drink. 1 large piece horseradish 1 or 2 full heads of garlic 1 or 2 large onions, the hottest you can find 1 large piece of fresh ginger 1 handful of hot peppers 1 handful of tumeric powder Apple Cider Vinegar Blender Chop the horseradish, ginger and onions up. No need to bother peeling them. Put in the blender. Throw in the hot peppers (any hot kind) and garlic--again, no need to peel or chop. Add the tumeric. Cover all this with ACV and blend until everything is slushy. Turn off blender and add enough ACV to cover this slush by an inch. Blend again. Pour this out into a jar, label it Anti-Plague Formula, and let it sit at least 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, strain through cheesecloth or an old, clean nylon hose, into a glass canning jar. To use, take 1 ounce (a shot) of this. You can just drink the shot if you don't mind the taste, which will be HOT and spicy, or you can add it to water, or even use it as a salad dressing, mixed with oil. I have a friend who peels everything when making, leaves it all slushy, and uses it like a dipping sauce. Taking this once a day will keep you from getting a cold or flu, but if you are very run down and feel something coming on, then up this to 1 ounce 4 or more times a day. Just be careful. I use to take it straight, but then I felt like I was getting the flu, so started drinking it straight 4 times a day. Kept the flu away, but by the third day of taking it straight (just drinking it without diluting it) the acid started to bother my stomach. I stopped drinking it and couldn't tolerate it for many months. After that, I can now take it diluted and it's fine. It was just too much acid on my stomach drinking that much straight that way for that many days. Guest guest
Hi Marci - My best remedy is Oscillo, a homeopathic preparation that you take at the beginning of any flu-like symptoms. Every time I take it, whatever I have is gone almost instantly. You take 3 doses, 6 hours apart. I keep it on hand so I am ready the second I feel any symptoms. I haven't had the flu in so long, I can't even remember how long ago my last bout was. And, no, I absolutely do not get a flu shot! " A great antiviral preparation that we take (kids too) is a mixture of about a 1/4 teaspoon each of turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger (powdered) mixed with raw honey. Take a small spoonful of this several times a day when ill. Or take it once a day as a prevention. These herbs contain dozens of antiviral compounds and work well on viruses. Also teas are wonderful, enjoyed warm with a touch of raw honey, for the cold/flu season. I blend my own using dries herbs of echinacea, astragalus, chamomile, rosehips, ginger and peppermint. These herbs fight infection and are packed with vitamins and minerals. Hot baths are excellent with sea salts, epsom salt, and antiviral essential oils such as tea tree, lavender, cinnamon, clove, etc. Be well! Guest guest
Hi. I'm a newbie here. Thought I'd chime in. My husband and I take 1000 mgs of vitC 3x a day and when cold season starts we double the dose. Linus Pauling did some amazing research on vitC. We also " do " our ears with hydrogen peroxide once a week and move to twice a week when cold season comes around. **Lay on your side on a flat surface and pour one capful of peroxide in you ear and let sit for 10 minutes. Sit up and " drain " into a paper towel. Swab out excess with a clean, dry Qtip. Switch over and do the opposite ear. It is guarateed to drive you crazy with all the bubbling but it's worth it. Neither one of us can remember the last time we had a cold or flu. I got the peroxide info from Mercola.com. The most important tip though is wash your hands frequently and when in public, never touch your face. The germs enter your eyes, nose and mouth straight from your hands. Usually if you are mindful enough, this alone will keep the bugs at bay. ~*~Namaste~*~ Stephanie " Todays Mighty Oak Is Just Yesterdays Nut That Held It's Ground. Guest guest
Hi Marci, I have been practicing homoeopathy for the last 22 years. During the course of such time, I have been using Homoeo medicine Inflenzinum for anti flue which is not only effective preventive but ensures that any individual taking it few days before the epidemic or any member down with flue may be viral or not in a family and when other active members take that one dose of homoeo medicine, never get effected by the virous. Allopatic anti flue medicine does not work also it has many side effects. I had to face so many patients who had taken a shot of anti flue, had to be treaded by homoeo medicine only.
