Guest guest
i have the most painful periods imaginable. Its come to a point where medicine barely reduces the pain. My period is very heavy and which has caused severe anemia and fatigue from all the loss of blood. My cramps are so bad its hard to walk, the pain keeps me up at night and has caused me to vomit. I'm really tired of conventional medicine which only trades in my symptoms for even worse side effects. Any alternative medicinal suggestions? Ive heard that nux vomica and feverfew may help, but i dont know where to get these or even in what amounts to take them in. Help please
Guest guest
I would look into the possibility of a severe hormone imbalance and go from there. Homeopathics can help. But it is best to know what is causing the problems to begin with. Hormone imbalance when treated properly can aleviate the symptoms you are speaking of. I had bad cramps and Therma Care Heat Wraps, the small size, were very helpful and soothing. They last up to 10 hrs. Jean

Guest guest
Hi, if you are in SF Bay Area, I invite you to come see me if you want. Homeopathy is really good with this with additional naturopathic support. Natalya Golovanov, N.D. Guest guest
It sounds like you are having a number os symptoms related to heavy metal poisoning, i suspect mercury (Hg). MSM is a great chelator of mercury, i generally recommend about 5000 mg per amalgam filling when clients have them. Also i'd do a colon cleanse and rebuild the friedly flora using kefir and activia yogurt. Also try about 1 G of mag oxide a day. peace matt My religion is very simple. Guest guest
Jean's suggestion of the heat wraps are great. I love them for my bad periods. The only potential problem with them is if you are one of us lucky people that gets a little nausia with your cramps the heat might aggrivate it. Its worth a try though. Of course there is always the traditional hot baths (I would suggest adding some epsom salt, it does wonders for relaxing the muscles even more than the hot water alone, plus it really deep cleans your skin), and using traditional heating pads. Make absolutely certain you are drinking at least 64 oz of water a day, even when you're not on your period. It will help to prevent water retention which makes cramps even worse. And I know its hard to walk when your cramps are that bad but it really, really helps to get some mild exercise. Even if you just walk for ten minutes a day at a slow pace, it makes a tremendous difference. Take a good multivitamin with iron, and always take it with food, for the anemia. Try not to eat too much sodium during your periods. If you can cut it out entirely it will help, but at the very least, stop adding extra salt to your food a few days before when you expect to get your period to a few days after its over. Make sure you're eating plenty of fiber too. Fruits will be a good source of that during your period because it also provides fluids and can give some satisfaction to a sweet tooth (if you're anything like me when you're on your period, you want sweets). Now, none of this is going to cure your problem but it will certainly help and will not in any way interfere with any treatment your doctor might suggest. It is important that you figure out the cause of this problem, because severe pain is not normal. Good luck! Building a website is a piece of cake. Guest guest
Please have someone check to make sure you don't have anything sinister going on... endometriosis (which is very much like what you describe), fibroids, adenomysis, cysts, etc. These problems will cause severe pain and uncontrollable bleeding. If there is a physical reason for heavy bleeding, you definitely want to start there. As Jenny said, I would suggest getting your hormone levels tested. You can do this fairly inexpensively yourself by ordering test kits. http://www.zrtlab.com is a reputable company. You can use Shepherds Purse to slow bleeding. You should be able to find it as a tincture at a health store. Shepherds Purse was used on the battlefield during WWII to stop the bleeding of wounds until they could get medical attention. For pain, try a castor oil pack. Add some Roman Chamomile essential oil to a lotion and rub it on your abdomen. It acts as an anti-spasmodic. I hope you find relief! Guest guest
Thank you Shana for the link. I've been asking where to find these kits for clients.
