Guest guest
Hi, MSM is usually sold in 1000mg tabs or caps. When it is sold in bulk, ie powder, about one tablespoon is about 5000mg. MSM is extremely safe and effective. Here is my suggestion: Take either 1/4 tablespoon three time per day. It works better when about 60mg of vitamin C is added to 1000mg. Hope this helps James Caroline <ladyguinevere wrote: Sylvia just mentioned how she takes MSM when she feels achy...and that got me thinking... I started taking Tae Kwon Do again after a good solid two year break. Now this was a break during which I have really done NO structured exercise at all. I KNEW I was going in to this totally out of shape and my muscles would hurt. After a bit of discussion a while back regarding MSM because my back was aching I decided to start putting some MSM in my water each day. I still don't know exactly how much to take, but I guess I manage to put about a pinch of MSM into about two bottles of water each day. I don't know what this means mg wise....lol. Anyway, the point of this is that since I started back into TKD and knowing I will hurt...I'm really very surprised that even after a VERY tough work out I don't hurt as much as I remember hurting before. I know that I am totally out of shape, so I am imagineing that the MSM is making some kind of difference in the way my muscles feel and are healing after each work out. Do you think? or am I totally off? CarolineFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Guest guest
Question about this...I have this dried orange and lemon peel here...I haven't powdered it yet, but plan on doing so. If I added this along with my MSM to water...would it cover my Vit C need for the MSM?? Has anyone tried using the powdered peel in water? Does it make the water bitter tasting? Caroline Here is my suggestion: Take either 1/4 tablespoon three time per day. It works better when about 60mg of vitamin C is added to 1000mg. Guest guest
I used to take Glucosamine but stopped. I do notice that my hips are really stiff when I try to do kicks and such. I am wondering if I start taking Glucosamine if that would help to lubricate those joints a bit to help with my kicks and increasing my flexibility. I know that it will come with time, but I want it to come without pain! lol Caroline I take a 1000 Mg of MSM w 1000mg of Glucosamine each day. Guest guest
MSM combined with Glucosamine with Chondroitin is one of the best supplements for joint pain, arthritis relief etc that can be found. My ex was a candidate for a complete knee replacement on both knees, however; he was also too young in the Dr. opionion. The Dr. recommened the above and my ex found he had less pain and swelling, did not require anymore shots and felt better. The Dr. liked the results and told him to stay on them. I recommend them to my clients also with the addition of Essential Fatty Acids and Calcium-Magnesium Complex. Hi Laura, My husband and I have been using MSM regularly for several years now for any kind of pain due to inflammation whether it be joints or muscles. We take one 1,000 mg capsule on a daily basis just for maintenance. If I'm having back pain I'll take larger doses as an alternative to over the counter pain releivers and it does really seem to help. The only side effect I was getting one time when I was taking up to 6,000 mg. per day was I started getting muscle cramps in my legs, when I backed off the high dose, the cramps went away. My regular joint supplements are MSM, Glucosamine Sulfate and Omega 3 fish oil for lubrication. Jean
Guest guest
yes, I used to take it everyday, but hardly need it anymore. My joint pain is at least 90% better, but I also stopped eating night shade vegetables, after finding out that they may cause the pain. Guest guest
Hi laura, I have been using a combination pill of Glucosomine, Chrondroitin and MSM which I buy over the counter. I have used it for a while witrh no obvious signs of improvement in my osteo-arthritis. I am still searching for better cures. ~Andy laura mundorf <mundorf54498 wrote: hello, does anyone use MSM on a regular basis for joints, & what results are you having with it ? thanks laura Catch up on fall's hot new shows on TV. Guest guest
Hi, Laura! I use MSM every day and have been for several years. I use 2000mg daily along with Glucosamine Sulfate 2000mg daily. I am over fifty years old and have no joint problems whatsoever. I used to have knee pain before I began this regime -- but it's gone now! MSM has many more benefits besides joint help. It's great for skin and hair, allergies, headaches and more. I believe there are no listed side effects with this natural sulphur. You may want to check out *The Miracle of MSM*, a book by Stanley W. Jacob ( & a few others). I hope this helps you. Guest guest
I'm nearly 52 and I use MSM with excellent results. I really notice the difference in my joints when I don't use it. I like MSM because there are so many other benefits too. It's great for your skin, hair, lungs and much more. Guest guest
I would try the supplements separate as one or the other may not be enough or is too much.
