Guest guest
This came across on one of my Great Dane lists. Thought I would share it. This is about a Great Dane ******************************************************************** she has cancer--- lymphoma, I was devastated, after countless hours on the web researching cures, I don't believe chemo is the right course for her (and possibly not anyone) anyway. I stumbled across the Budwig Protocal (BP), and it really seems to work. There is more to it than just this, but the main thing is to eat 1/4 cup of lowfat cottage cheese, with 2 tblspn of fresh cold pressed flaxseed oil, and I even grind a little fresh flaxseed in a coffee grinder to add to it. Annie got really bad for a few days and wouldn't even look at food, so I had to force the mixture into her by dropping spoonfuls into her throat and then holding her head up and messaging her throat till she swallowed. After a few days, her appetite returned, then I had to figure out what to feed her, since cancer thrives on carbohydrates, and can't use protein it was obvious that all grain (kibble) had to be removed from her diet. We tried different things, but she wouldn't eat raw meat, so we made her chicken soup with lots of veggies and deboned chicken breasts and she devoured it, and kept getting stronger. I gradually added raw chicken and ground beef to the soup right before serving, and now she's fine with raw meat. Annie starts her day now with a dish of " ice cream " (that's what I tell her the CCand flax is) and then has a little more in the evening, and she loves the stuff. She continues to improve everyday, and is now running and playing, and acting like her old self after less that 3 weeks on the BP. Her glands are still swelled, but the ones in her throat have shrunken considerably.
