Guest guest
When my kids were small I used echinacea tincture or lobelia tincture and olive oil in their ears. I would warm it up before putting in the ear. By the next morning, the fevers were gone and so was the pain. Guest guest
I have found the best thing in the world is ear drops made from garlic cloves and Mullein flowers. My recipe follows: 4 ounces of olive oil (cheapest kind) 4 large garlic cloves mashed 1 handful Mullein flowers..fresh or dried Soak all ingredients in the sun or in a pan of warm water for a couple of hours or all day for a stronger medicine. Strain through a fine mesh strainer and put five drops in affeced ear three or four times a day. Use a small piece of cotton after drops are inserted. Also, an excellent Homeopathic earache medicine you can use is by Similisan. You should be able to find this anywhere they sell Homeopathics and Herbs. It says: Relives Earache Homeopathic Ear Drops
Guest guest
The quickest relief I have EVER had from an ear infection was from an ear wax candle. I got from the the health food store. You put it in your ear and light one end. It creates a vacuum and suctions the wax out of your ear. It immediately took all the pressure off my ear and the pain left. I didn't even have to go to the doc for an antibiotic. Not sure if this is the case for everyone, but it worked for me. Very inexpensive and readily available. I believe there are even some salons that will provide the service. They call it ear candling. Good luck. Also, some relief until you can get an ear candle...use a hot back, as hot as you can handle and lay on it. The infection can actually rupture and just come pouring out of your ear. It is gross but the relief of pain is amazing. Good luck. , " Steve " <AsburySteve1952 wrote: > > Hi All, [] > > What's the Best thing to take for an Ear Infection? Guest guest
Hi Steve, I've heard that essential oil of basil applied to your head around the base of the infected ear will clear up ear infections in childern - I imagine it should work well with adults, too. Be sure to use therapeutic grade oil, such as you get from Young Living (and not the typical health-food store brands). Other essential oils such as lavender, tea tree, thyme and oregano should help, too. You may also want to try using hydrogen peroxide in your ear (as long as the ear drum in intact). Tip your head to the side and pour a small amount in, allowing it to sit and bubble a while. Also, for just about any infection vitamin C is great. Your body uses it up when you've got an infection. Good luck Pamela , " Steve " <AsburySteve1952 wrote: > > Hi All, [] > > What's the Best thing to take for an Ear Infection? Guest guest
Oh wow, I forgot all about the ear wax candle! I love those things! Will have to go get some. I used to use them on my kids when they had ear aches. Marsha and the Yorkies http://www.miracleyorkies.com
Guest guest
A few drops of lukewarm cooking oil in a dropper in the ear will take away the ache, however, it will also impair the hearing in that ear for a while until at a later time when the ear does not ache anymore, you can put some lukewarm hydrogen peroxide in it to wash it out. If the earache is still there and you put hydrogen peroxide in it, you will know cos the hurting will come back. When I was a child, my mom made the mistake of heating vics vapo rub on a metal spoon and trying to pour it down my ear; not only did the spoon burn my ear, i had the earache on top of that to contend with, so don't do that. > , " Steve " > <AsburySteve1952@> wrote: > > > > Hi All, [] > > > > What's the Best thing to take for an Ear Infection? Guest guest
I've been reading these posts with great interest. I could be wrong but it seems to me putting all that stuff in your ear may cause other problems. The solution in our house, (which has worked so far) is to put a few drops of colloidal silver in the ear a couple times a day. I know the doctors say to keep the ear dry, but putting drops of distilled water infused with silver seems safe. Silver has been used for centuries to kill infections, and is still used in hospitals on newborns. Good Luck!
Guest guest
/*Hi All, */ Thanks to Pamela and ALL of you who answered my request for a cure for an ear infection. As I mentioned before once, these really complicated and lengthly things that some people suggest, will NOT be practical for me! But I love the idea of the Oil of Basil, or the Garlic in the Ear (which I never heard of that use of Garlic before) and those simple things. Oh, and I HAVE used some Peroxide already, carefully with a Q-Tip, because it breaks through the tightness that blocks your ear, and gives you an ear ache! I also was intrigued by the Frank's suggestion of the " Ear Wax Candle " ! That one's Really Unique! *Thanks to all*, and I'll try one or two of them, hopefully with success. I'm going to a good Alternative Doctor for a NutriBalance Program, so if all fails, I'll get one of his Supplements to help me! /*Peace Steve*/ Vote for Dennis Kucinich in 2008, so we get Universal Health Care!
