Guest guest
This may seem like a strange request, but I'm hoping that someone here can help me. I have a German Shepherd and about about a week and a half ago he got a hold of a small " cooked " chicken wing. Within a couple of days I noticed that his bark was raspy and horse sounding... I tried several things using essential oils that was recommended to me to help heal any scratches or cuts in his throat. Well, since the horseness got worse and he started to bark less (which is VERY RARE for him - he is very protective and barks all the time)... I got concerned that maybe the bone had lodged in his throat.. I took him to the vet and Thank GOD no bone was found when they did an exam and x-ray. The vet really didn't have any suggestions, and just said if he isn't any better in a couple of weeks bring him back. Well, that was a whole lot of NO information for the cost of the visit... I was wondering what if anything could possibly soothe his throat if it hurts him to bark that is SAFE for a DOG to take as well as humans. OR to help bring his voice back. Obviously I don't know if it hurts him or not. He just isn't barking much. It's kind of hard to keep him from barking at all, but today he hasn't barked at all, and if he has, I CAN'T HEAR him because of the loss of voice. This big German Shepherd sounds like a Chahuahua (spelling?).... I know this is a strange request, but hoping that there are dog lovers out there that may have had a smiliar situation OR knows what products can be given to dogs to help them to heal as well. OR may know where to direct me to get information or help for him. I would appreciate you contacting me ASAP so I can maybe help releave some of his discomfort or help to bring his voice back. If this is not a topic for the group and you have information please email me privately off group so I can try and help my dog. He is my companion and my protector... So I really want to help him if it's at all possible. Thank you for your time Health and Blessings Gail
Guest guest
Hey Gail There are both fungus and bacteria that can cause this E-mail me at bama.brat I want more info.. where do you live (City & State is sufficent) what do you feed age of dog recent exposures to woods or water sources (other than regular drinking water) Is drinking water clean or does it have algea, debris, etc... The more you can tell me, the more likely I am going to be able to help you. In the meantime, I would put the dog on colloidal silver... just squirt some in his mouth at least 2 times a day. Guest guest
Have you tried slippery elm with honey, and then maybe a touch of gravy or something to get him to eat it? Honey and slippery elm are very useful in humans with throat problems. I would think it would work on dogs, and neither substance is harmful to dogs.
