And it is great for anti-aging, energy and memory. In my paper on cancer, I said, " The body is too acidic. Detox and make Akaline soups , and vegetable juicing- carrot alone is not enough;add ginger root to juices-carrot beet and celery-8-12oz's/3x's/day and add green pepper, parsley, cucumber and apple for enzymes and taste. And make ginger root tea, a great blood purifier, or add to other herbal teas- steep it, never boil it. " That's it- Basic Formula: 6-8 carrots - organic is best for Beta carotene (A) and selenium which activates the vit. E 1/4-1/2 fresh beets for iron (better than Geritol-just don't tell Lawrence Welk) 1-2 stalks of celery for potassium and kidneys which work on a sodium/potassium balance (pump) to filter the blood and clean the body and ginger root 2-3 slivers a great blood purifier well known in the East The rest is optional: 1/4-1/2 Green Pepper Very high in Vit C when not cooked and Chlorophyll Parsley one handful for Chlorophyll and Iron when beets are not available 1/3-1/2 Cucumber great to clean the skin, the largest eliminating organ in the body and sure to be used as you detox and the intestines and kidneys get overloaded. and 1/2 - 1 Apple as needed for enzymes and taste Use other vegetables as needed. Wheat and barley grasses will help too. I don't usually mix vegetables with fruit, except apple which is pretty neutral. Juice 3-4x's/day with fruit in the morning and vegetables the rest of the day. Juicing with food is OK;juice fasting of more than 3 days needs to be done under supervision. (40 days and 40 nights in the dessert and you become enlightened or so I'm told.) Drink lots of water to flush the body; half your body weight in ozs./day of fresh water-filtered or spring water. Figi water is great. And you can energize the water with drops, prayers, crystals, etc. You may consider taking Greens+ , Greens 7 or a similar formula from the health food store with your juice to get all the greens, vegetables and enzymes together. The real benefits of juicing begin after 3 1/2 days and you will begin to feel more energy and more energized. This will continue until you stop from 7 to 33 days generally. This is good to do one/year with shorter fasts done quarterly. Ancient yoga wisdom says to fast until the tongue becomes clear.
