Guest guest
THE CARITAS SPIRITISTCENTER PRESENTS The WORK of Byron Katie Presented byKonstanze Hacker " An unquestioned mind is the world of suffering " (Byron Katie) The WORK of Byron Katie is a revolutionary and simple process that helps clear the mind by identifying and questioning the thoughts that because all the pain, suffering and violence in the world. Thoughts like " I'm not good enough, " " The world is a dangerous place, " " My partner doesn't understand me " run through our minds many times a day, fostering fear, anger, stress and depression. The WORK consists simply of four questions and a turnaround, which leads us to experiencing the opposite of what we believe and often find freedom therein. Byron Katie, the founder of The WORK is a 64-year old woman who after a long period of depression and paranoia in 1986 made the discovery that when we believe our thoughts, we suffer, but when we question our thoughts, we don't. In two decades of teaching The WORK all over the world, Katie has come to see that this is true for every human being. Both the introductory presentation and the ongoing group will be very experiential and teach you how to use this simple yet powerful process for your own benefit, and the benefit of all other people in your life. The ongoing group will provide the opportunity to deepen your personal process and practice using the four questions and turnaround with each other. Introductory evening: Thursdays, September 20th, 2007 7-9pm. Free Ongoing Group: Thursdays, 10am – noon, beginning on September27th for 8 weeks. $10 per session. Konstanze Hacker holds a BS in Speech Sciences from University College London.
