Guest guest
My DH gave me some suggestions for Mosquito control. He used to run a yardcare business with some very large yards. Brewers yeast in your pets food will help with bugs on your pets. Sprinkle it on their food. He say's he got the Vegesol(vegetable based organic soap) at Lowes, citronella oil at the health food store. He mixes them per instructions on the organic soap and adds the citronella oil. Uses a yard sprayer to apply. Or Castiles Peppermint soap diluted 1:10 sprayed in yard with yard sprayer. You can also spray this on the pets. Instructions are on the package. Mix is in with lipbalm and then rub on their noses etc. He say's you need to find out where the mosquitos are coming from. Open water is a breeding ground....such as a ponds, bird baths, old tires, any container that can hold water. You can put a TBLS of bleach (up to 1000 gallons of water), in the standing water to kill the mosquito larvae. This small amount of bleach doesn't hurt animals. If there are areas outside your yard that are wet areas the local mosquito abatement can go out and spray those areas, usually no charge to you.
