Guest guest
I saw basil plants yesterday at the Farmers' Market but it said that the plant needs sun, which I have none inside my new house. In fact, I put all my plants in one place under one of those full spectrum bulbs. Shall I try them anyway? These mosquitoes are driving me nuts and they bite me constantly which is really aggravating. I am even considering buying a bat house, hoping they will move to the neighborhood and finish these infernal beasts once and for all. I have been spraying the area where I am (including) myself with lavender, eucalyptus, citronella and lemon, to no avail. Just an explanation: my main doors have no screens (not my house) so I keep them closed but I leave open the door to the garage a little to let the cats in and out. That is how they come in, I think, or perhaps I am breeding them with all the plants in my house. Thanks. Guest guest
--Yes, I would try the basil plants. You can put fresh or dried basil in a spray bottle with witch hazel and spray with that after letting the leaves steep for a week or so. then strain or just the basil essential oil in water to spray yourself and house. You can also use basil essential oil to soak coton balls and place around the house, put some on all the light bulbs too to diffuse when they are on. You can also get the electric diffusers to spray the essential oil. blessings, cecile - In , " Dr. Maria Moratto " <drmoratto wrote: > > I saw basil plants yesterday at the Farmers' Market but it said > that the plant needs sun, which I have none inside my new house. > In fact, I put all my plants in one place under one of those full > spectrum bulbs. Guest guest
tay in a suburban area of India and mosquitos are a big problem for me and my family as well. This problem needs to be dealt with at multiple fronts: Screens will be of a great help. Try NEEM oil: Apply it on the open areas of your body while sleeping Use a mosquito net. I do not know if you will get it where you live but works just beautifully. Hang NEEM leaves in the rooms. It will deter other insects as well. Guest guest
For control in the yard my partner is using a solution of vegetable based soap and citronella oil. He is using a gargen sprayer and applying it to all the lawn areas and under bushes by where we sit. It is helping keep the mosquitos and noseeums under control. Garlic in the diet and lavender oilon the skin also helps make you less susceptible to bites.
