Guest guest
I have fibromyalgia and I am on several medications. I am taking Lyrica, Hydrocodone and Soma. I am taking these meds because I am allergic to NSAIDS. Can someone tell me what I can do to help with the pain. I am in the middle of a flare up it is hard to get out of bed and go to the bathroom and almost impossible to walk down stairs and back even with help.... Guest guest
Natural progesterone helps many women with fibro. Here's why: When stretching any distance, nerve cells are sheathed in an off-white insulating covering called myelin which protects the nerves from trauma and chemical erosion as well as preventing short-circuiting of the electric impulses along the way. Along the nerves throughout the body are special cells called Schwann cells, which continually maintain the myelin sheath. Progesterone is made by the Schwann cells, allowing them to perform their function. It is no surprise, then, to discover that Fibromyalgia, inflammation of the nerve cells in the muscle accompanied by aches and pains, is the result of progesterone deficiency. The traditional medical approach uses non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-depressants and a variety of stress management techniques without great success. Dr. John Lee found that fibromyalgia, which is reaching epidemic proportions in the United States, would disappear within six months to a year upon using progesterone supplementation. - From Sherrill Sellman's book " Hormone Heresy " . Also check out Dr. John C Lowe: http://www.drlowe.com/ His book " The Metabolic Treatment of Fibromyalgia " is highly acclaimed. Guest guest
Since you're using medications and many herbs and supplements don't mix well with them, I would suggest sticking with sour cherry juice as a quick way to help. You've probably already noticed that your diet and PH balance plays a huge role. Drink (alkalizing) water and lots of it. Sorry you're in so much pain and hope you feel better soon. Michelle Or, choose a homeopathic approach.--- In , " Syn " <synfullychocolate wrote: > > I have fibromyalgia and I am on several medications. I am taking > Lyrica, Hydrocodone and Soma. Guest guest
I have extreme pain with Fibro sometimes as well The things that have helped me minimizemy flares... 1) Dietary changes... remove all Corn Syrup, Crystalized Fructose (unless you know the exact source, essentially is is crystalized corn syrup).... remove sugar, all sugar substitues (only allowed are Stevia & Xylitol), remove flour... (if you want a starch, eat rice... potatoes, sweet potatoes, peas, lima beans)... you may find that after several months you can occasionally add whole wheat pasta back in. 2) Cherries - Cherries or Cherry Juice Extract... apparently the more sour the cherry, the more " good stuff " it has. One survey showed that 12 Cherries = 350mg of Naproxen... I eat (or drink) the equivelent of 36 cherries each day. 3) Flax Seed Oil, Avacodos, and/or other Essential Fatty Acids... these help repair the sheath of your nerve paths, you then are more healthy & less hypersensative nervouss sytem.... I do @ 3 tbsp of Flax Seed Oil (sometimes sprouted flax seeds) every single day 4) your body's ph is something you have to fiercly protect... mine has been heavily monitored, mine tends to go from slightly acidic to overly alkaline every time I have spasms.... despite what many would think.. when I start having muscle spasms or my fight/flight kicks into overdrive, I tend to go over alkaline.. a small amount of balsamic (or other mild) vinegar in a large amount of water can correct this quickly ..... see about having your blood pulled, when you feel good, when you feel at your worst... when you have spasms & when you don't... interesting to map it.... 5) meditate, meditate, meditate 6) Mindset... it can make or break you Feel free to e-mail me... bama.brat , " Michelle " <michelle wrote: > > Since you're using medications and many herbs and supplements don't mix > well with them, I would suggest sticking with sour cherry juice as a > quick way to help. > > You've probably already noticed that your diet and PH balance plays a > huge role.
