Guest guest
I burnt my ankle on a hot motorcycle pipe. I am using sivadene and guaze. Anything else? Aloe? Plant better or use ointment? Diane
Guest guest
I use vitamin E oil, when I burn myself. It just happened one day; I burnt myself pretty badly in the kitchen, had some vitamin E oil in the refrigerator and tried it. What a relief! The burn healed quickly too. I also use the aloe plant for any wounds. Ingrid --- Diane <roba wrote: > I burnt my ankle on a hot motorcycle pipe. I am > using sivadene and > guaze. Anything else? Aloe? Guest guest
I also did this a number of years ago, but on my inner calf. It looked like a pepperoni! For a long time, it was pretty raw. Be sure to change the dressing and clean it everyday. It will most likely blister and you'll have fluid that comes out. Also, make sure you use a bandage that won't stick to your owie once it's healing. (The gauze might set into the burn.) Guest guest
I used a mixure of aloe vera, vitamin E capsule, comfrey root powder and honey. Mix until smooth and then slather over the burn area, then leave it alone. It will harden and keep bacteria out of it, allowing the skin cells to reseed and heal. This reduces scarring. I used this on a softball size scalding burn 13 years back that was 1st, 2nd and 3rd degree burns. I avoided a skin graft because of it and have minimal scaring today. Guest guest
Yes aloe is great for burns. While my boys were young I kept plenty available. Greg. Guest guest
Sorry, Diane; I missed this earlier. I make a salve that works wonders on burns. I'll be glad to post the *recipe* if you want to make some. Heck, I'd be glad to send you a small tin of it if you want to give me your address (privately, of course.)It's basically herb-infused olive oil, beeswax, essential oils, etc. My daughter burned her arm badly a few years ago. Everyone thought it would be scarred forever. But she faithfully used my salve, and you can't tell that area is different at all now. A friend dropped a pot of boiling water on her foot a couple months ago, used my salve, and her foot also healed beautifully.
