Guest guest Posted September 1, 2007 Report Share Posted September 1, 2007 It isn't the carbonation that leaches calcium. Sodas use phosphates rather than true carbonation to make the fizz. Phosporus binds with calcium. If there is no calcium in the beverage, the phosphorus will leach calcium from the bones to bind with. As long as you drink water that was just carbonated, you should be fine.
