I hope someone has the answer..

I know how bad soda is for us, I don't drink it myself...

and diet soda is even worse, which I will always have water,,, diet

beverages leave a nasty taste in my mouth , as does artificial sweeteners, so

all of

that is taking care of itself,

However I am addicted to club soda, or carbonated water, sparkling water.. (

no flavor, just bubbles)

now I read that carbonation leaches calcium from the bones??

Does it? is there a safe amount? or am I doomed ?

Thank you in advance for any insight...

In Light and Love,

Jess

Hey Jess,

I'm a fan of sparkling water too. Those bubbles are harmless!

It's the phosphoric acid, sugar and caffeine found in (primarily)

cola's that can " leach " calcium.

Cheers,

Michelle

Actually carbonation leaches the phosphorus from the

bones, causing them to deteriorate, and the excess

salt is not good for the body also. Calcium builds the

phosphorus.

You're not doomed, just find a healthy beverage to

replace it with. If it say's carbonated on the

ingredients stay away from it.

I agree. Carbonation can actually be good for the stomach, helping to

settle a queasy stomach and inducing burping, and helping to relieve

gas. Most seltzer waters do not contain sodium, only sparkling mineral

waters do. It is also relatively simple to make your own provided you

have a seltzer water maker and you can add natural flavorings vs.

artificial and use filtered water. Do not use distilled water as it

has no minerals and will remove minerals from the body and this might

not be good especially for those with low blood pressure as it will

remove sodium making the blood pressure lower.
