I had the same problem and went through a desensitizing program

and am now allergy and reaction free. (fairly free as to not be any problem)

I used to regularly get pneumonia from my allergies

and eyes matted closed from pus at night.

I had enormous breathing problems most of the year.

Many doctors do not believe in desensitizing programs because they work on

airborne stuff but as allergies are a THRESHOLD CONDITION, when you get rid of

the airborne allergies, the food ones also are so greatly reduced as to also not

be (much of) a problem. I am so food allergic I am even allergic to things like

celery and carrots and a laundry list too long to mention. Desensatizing works

and I would highly recommend it for COPD people.

Hope this helps.

Peace

I highly recommend acupuncture. I was on $700/month in asthma medications

-- singular, inhaled steroids, inhalers, allergy meds, and I am now taking

nothing (although I did have to use an emergency inhaler while in Shanghai,

but then, almost everyone would). I still see my acupuncturist every 5-6

weeks (at $75/visit, much cheaper) and he helps me with my blood pressure,

energy levels, menopause, and post cancer treatment symptoms as well. I am

always amazed at what he can do for me.

Find a traditionally trained five element acupuncturist and see what then

can do with you. I am very impressed!!!

Have a wonderful day.

Can you give me more information on what desensatizing is for allergies and how

you go about having it done. My 9 year old is starting to develope allergies

and this sounds like a good thing to do. Thanks in advance

Do you know if the allergies are environmentally related or food related?

Also, are they to things that are outside (like pollens) or inside the house

(like dust or mold)?

Overall, I find eating local honey good for my allergies (even though I am

allergic to some things inside the house as well as pollens). It is

important that the honey be local and raw.

I have not gone through a desensitizing process, however.

  • 2 weeks later...

When I was a child, desensitizing worked, but when I tried it again

when I was an adult, I reacted to the allergy shots. I did not like

how they felt, so I quit that knowing I could start up again later,

and decided to look holistically. I tried a cleanse called Taio He

and it worked miracles. Many, many other symptoms went away in

addition to most of the allergy syptoms. Any allergy symptoms

remaining were greatly reduced.
