This will be an informal discussion and demonstration of

curanderismo's history and rituals, including the use of platicas,

herbs, prayer and energy movements that help release negative emotions,

energetic attachments, and help re-integrate aspects of the self that

may have been lost due to trauma, in order to restore harmony and

wholeness.

 

The former administrator of a psychiatric partial hospitalization

program, Grace has been in private practice as an energy healer and

teacher since 1996. She has studied with several indigenous healers from

Baja California, Mexico including Yaqui Medicine Man and Toltec Lineage

Holder, Tezkalci Matorral Kachora. A humorous and inspiring speaker,

she has lectured at the University of Southern California San Diego as

well as San Diego State University's School of Social Work on

Curandersimo healing practices. Grace currently teaches " Exploring

Native American Medicine Ways: Learn from, and honoring, Indigenous

Healing Traditions " at Arizona Western College in Yuma, Arizona.
