Guest guest
Hello, I am new to the group but I can answer this question. I, too, had chronic constipation my entire life. I no longer have that problem since I began taking MSM. I have taken as much as 7,000 mgs a day, but now I " m on a maintenance dose of 2,000 a day. There are no side effects, it is cheap, I buy a high-quality MSM supplement online and it is very affordable. I listened to a Dr's tape once about MSM and he said he prescribed it for his patients with IBS or spastic colon. He said it creates a " teflon-like " effect in the bowel, aiding elimination. all I know is that it works! My teen daughter takes it too. About MSM, it is said that it has the same toxicity of water. I couldn't be without it. Thanks,....nice group, glad I found you, Maggie , Boonight wrote: > > Hi, > > I was wondering if anyone has had any success with curing chronic > constipation. > > > I

Guest guest
Well, here is a page about MSM. My dh and I have been taking it for many years. We buy the pharmaceutical grade of course. I have no financial interest here, nor am I distributor. Guest guest
Embarrising as this is, I have never experianced this sort of thing in my entire life & I am at a loss as what to do right now. I am a vegetarian of 2 years & a waterholic. Recently, I decided to do a body cleanses. I started with a candidia cleanse & that was as far as I got. My b.m.'s about 2 months ago changed for the worse. I use to go twice a day, am and night - normal. Then one day, nothing at all & it went like that for about a week. I went to my doctor, of course put me on med's & that didn't help. Had to go back was put on a powder & that did help a little. Yet, was not up to normal standards by far. I was cramping all the time & my S.I. at the transverse colon was even hard at times. Through advice of my instructors (in school for massage therapy) went to see a person specializing in eyeridology. Now on various herbs 1 is bifdophilus, I was to see " change " in 12 hours. Unfortunately, a week later still b.m.s vary and when they do well they are what you'd expect with the lack of b.m.s I am asking for help in this situation
Guest guest
Hi Cathy: I've been right where you are and i know exactly how you feel. I have tried so many different products, including herbs, and prescribed medications. I found that none of that could actually regulate me. Must product liquefied the contents of the lower colon and gave me bad cramps and sometimes nausea. I have found relief and a real answer in the reliv products (link below) I knew by the first b.m that this product would work. The b.m was compact and i could tell that there was movment from quite high up in the colon. These products are in shake form. Have a read of the web site and tell me what you think. http://www.reliv.com/ Cathy please feel free to contact me off list if you would like more information or to have a frank discussion about the results of product. Guest guest
Hi Cathy~ I saw your posts and hoped I could offer maybe a little something that might give you comfort. I suffer from chronic abdominal pain with extensive endometriosis and colon/bowel issues are my friends with this disease. I started taking castor oil and messaging in daily on my abdomen in a counter clockwise motion for about 45 minutes of relaxation and messaging. Then I took and put a towel over it and then my heating pad for 20 minutes. This has helped now and I can go up to 4-5 days and each day things get lot easier as I do this. Many of our other sisters shared this so I wanted to just in case it can help. Here is what I had been given on castor packs as well.Maybe one of the more experienced people on the forum can better explain if it's a good idea to go this route depending on your transverse colon issues. A castor oil pack is placed on the skin to increase circulation and to promote elimination and healing of the tissues and organs underneath the skin. It is used to stimulate the liver, relieve pain, increase lymphatic circulation, reduce inflammation, and improve digestion. As a Holistic Treatment for; cholecystitis (inflammation of the gall bladder), poor eliminations, epilepsy, various liver conditions such as cirrhosis and torpid liver, scleroderma, headaches, appendicitis, arthritis, incoordination between assminilations and eliminations, colitis, intestinal disorders such as stricture and colon impaction, toxemia. incoordination between nervous systems Castor oil packs are made by soaking a piece of flannel in castor oil and placing it on the skin. The flannel is covered with a sheet of plastic, and then a hot water bottle is placed over the plastic to heat the pack..... I hope you find something soon to keep you comfy. Thinking of you... Guest guest
Are you taking in fiber? Rotating grains? Drinking pure water, not flavored or sweetened water? Using essential fatty acids, minerals, enzymes, amino acids and vitamins? Sipping not gulping water so that it is aborbed into the body rather than flushed? Before you do a candid cleanse you have to do a parasite then the fungus clease. Parasites feed off the fungus, that is why it is so hard to get rid of the two. Liver cleanse first, parasite, liver again, kidney and then fungus. In the mean time you remove from the diet those things that feed the candida. Also if the elimination system is not balanced and functioning in tandem with other organ systems your BM's will not be regular. They can become irregular, be stinky, sticky, light in color, float and be greasy. This is a sign that the elimination system is not working properly. I do body balancing through Biofeedback and destress the body and it teach it through feedback how to work properly. Including zapping fungus, parasites and other pathogens. Oh and stress will almost always cause an elimination problem. You may not even be aware of the stress. Guest guest
I have been constipated practically all my life (and also had several hemorroid operations)... For the last 2 decades I have been on a very healthy diet (mostly vegetables, whole grain, but some fresh fish about once a month)... Still, my bowels gave me serious problems (sometimes over an hour on the toilette)... I did not want to take supplements for years, but an alternative doctor changed my mind a few years ago and I am taking different herbs and supplements (the constipation was not my only problem) . What I believe helps me the most, is calcium and magnesium, preferably the powdered form. I am quite regular now... maybe that helps... Guest guest
Hi Cathy, I can't say what's going on with you now, but wondered if you had ever considered colonic therapy? I had a series of colonics many years ago when I was ill and I always felt so much better. I was just doing them for the cleanse. I would highly recommend that. Guest guest
buy a block of pressed figs from your supermarket, health store or phamacy- eat a slice morning and night for 3 days or untill improvement then a small slice every morning- plus warm milk and honey before bed ,if the problem persists-take casscarra-if you still have problems see another doc or ask for a more indepth check up-also being a veg' is fine but you must really study nutrition to get it right and make sure you balance proteins and get lots of fibre. Guest guest
Hi Cathy, Constipation here is usually caused by stress. Try some stress formulas and Rescue Remedy to get through school. For constipation, you need more fiber. At your health food store, they have whole psyillium seed powders and similar products often used for detox. Take 1-3 Tablespoons/day with lots of water. (Metamucil is psyillium without the husks.) Solaray has Triphala. Metagenics has a great and tasteless fiber powder. And you may want to try an enema at home. If that does not work, go and do one or more colonics. Yoga is most helpful here, swimming, exercise can all help. Yoga postures on the stomach such as the bow and boat poses, all massage the intestine. Salavasana is done raising the left leg then the right leg then both to follow the peristaltic action in the large intestine from right to left. Same for Sun Salutation. Try it. Relax, and as for school, remember, " And this too shall pass. Either or both may be the cause of all the troubles you mention and probably a lot more. Test yourself naturally for allergic responses to food or drink, which is complimentary at www.allergiesmaykill.com or check and correct your structure because a poor nerve supply to parts of the body reduce efficient function of the metabalism. Use an holistic Osteopath or Chiropractor or email me at donmoody and I will send you an exercise sheet to do the same job, but the exercise route is slower. Anyboby else who may be interested may also ask, its complimentary. Kind regards, Don Moody. nasalbone.
Guest guest
As simple as it might seem, I have had excellent results with Fiber ONE bars and cereal. I too had excellent movement until post-hysterectomy. I think it had to do with a Calcium supplement without the balance of magnesium. At a later date I need to be on Prevacid for Esophagitis after 2 years of trying alternatives. This also caused bowel dysfunction. With a bar or 3/4 cup of cereal daily, the results are pretty impressive. Now am moving off all traditional medicines, depending only on aloe juice to ease the esophagus, and high fiber for the regular movements. Not too bad I think..
