Guest guest
I am very alergic to poison oak and Ivy. With just an exposure in one spot, say my hands, It spreads to my whole body which swells up and oozes. It takes a week of sitting in a dark cool room before it subsides. I have not had a bad case of this for 30 years. Here is what I have found: 1.Get a cortizone shot immediately. It has already spread throughout your body. This is the only thing that works at your stage. It is the most effective at reducing swelling and itching.. 2, Potassium Permaganate is an iron dye. (not sure about the spelling) A few teaspoons in a cool bath is very relieving. It dries out the skin and sucks the poison out. Unfortunately it leaves your skin dyed a light brown for a week or so. But it is worth it. 3.A bath in oatmeal also does this but is not quite as effective. 4 Jewell Weed also called Snap Weed is very effective at relieving the discomfort. Just squeeze the juices out of the stems and apply it. There is no thing as too much. 5.From now always be on the lookout for those poisonous three leaves of Poison Oak and Ivy. It grows as vines usually but can disguise itself as a bush. and comes in many shades of green, usually glossy. 6.If you think you have contact, wash immediately with an abrasive soap such as the type mechanics use. Apply Jewell Weed and or cortizone cream. I wish you the best. Park yourself in front of a world of choices in alternative vehicles. Visit the Auto Green Center.
