Guest guest
Hi, this is the first post for me, although I have been answering a few question. I got poison oak 2 weeks ago while picking black berries, which were the best I ever got! The rash started 3-4 days later, I did not recognize it first as I had scratches, I did pick with no gloves in shorts and t-shirt, so I assume I touched it a lot. Needless to say the rash is all over my body. I used poison ivy soap by Burt's Bees , Tecnu soap, Calamine lotion. The old areas have healed in so far that the oils are gone, there are still red spots, like first degree burns, but now I am getting a rash all over my body and I have like little bumps and there are itchy too. New areas. I use Rhus Tox C30 internally. I am tired of itching and would love to get ideas what to do. I have used homeopathic remedies since 1974 I think or about that time, so I do not want to take cortisone if not absolutely necessary. Please advice,I need to get rid of the itch!!! Thanks in advance and be blessed. Ruth
Guest guest
Uhm, this sounds more like you picked up a fungus while you were out picking. Happened to me once. I thought I'd gotten into Poison Ivy or Poison Oak, went to the Dr. He said, " Yep. Poison Ivy " and gave me a shot which seemed to clear it right up. Until a week later, when I started breaking out all over again. Went to a DIFFERENT Dr. and she said it wasn't poison Ivy at all, that I had picked up a fungus in the scratches. Ended up having to get yet another shot, but this time it worked. So make sure you're not dealing with some kind of fungus as opposed to Poison Oak. Guest guest
There are lots of homeo remedies such as jewelweed that were discussed a while back when I myself had the Poison rash. I am going to try that next time, but this past time I used Zanfel and Super Ivy Dry which are both available at the drug store. I always use Aveeno body wash, but I also soaked in Aveeno colloidal oatmeal baths to help heal the skin.
