Guest guest
Hello, everyone, I have posted this message last week but somehow it didn't go through. So here it is again. I am facing a great difficulty: Bernie, a big, sweet, declawed cat decided to move in with me last December. He is just adorable. Now, I have two other cats that attack him all the time and he is usually very bruised and in constant stress, so much so that he bites his tail off, removes all his fur and injures himself to the point that his tail close to spine is all raw. --at first I thought it was food allergies but now I give him even a better food and the problem has returned. Last time this happened I treated him with Vit C and it healed but now he is doing this again. His skin has gotten much worse this time. I have decided that I cannot keep him, and this is breaking my heart. I think he is feeling I don't love him, which is absolutely not true. Bernie needs to live in a quiet house as an only cat with someone who totally adores him and who can spoil him to no end and who treats him naturally. He deserves that. Now, what can I do to help the situation? To release stress, stop the attacking, stop self-destruction, etc? I have tried Rescue Remedy but not all cats drink the water from the bowl. I appreciate your help. Guest guest
Concerning Rescue Remedy, I was told I could put it in the water, directly in the cat's mouth, on the nose (so he'll lick it off) or rub in your hands and then onto the cats' fur. Worth a try? I have just recently introduced a new cat into my house with two older cats. We also gave the new cat Walnut from the same company which is supposed to help with the transition time. The new cat had a self inflicted sore under his chin when he came but the area is now almost completely healed. Good luck. Guest guest
Separate them...give poor Bernie a break and separate him in his own large room...until you can give him away soon to a good home or a shelter that does not euthanize. medusa
