A coalition of major business organizations sent a letter to Congress October 4th, urging the conference committee to adopt the Senate version of several sections pertaining to business record privacy. McCain (AZ) to the 2006 defense appropriations bill which would clarify and standardize interrogation procedures for all Department of Defense employees. McCain’s anti-torture amendment was introduced in the U.S. House October 6th by Rep. Harman (CA). The bill (HR 3985) was referred to the House Judiciary Committee and the Armed Services Committee.
